Crimsonland
Spideroids Quest
What is the strategy used too complete this stage, no matter what i do, I always die, doesnt matter what weapon I use or items I pick up (if I ever can) there are so many spiders on the screen at one time you cant even dodge.

Any hints for this stage would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Enable perks and play the game like it was meant to be played.

Try something with good splash damage, Rocket Launcher worked for me :)

Rocket launcher, Poison bullets/radioactive (If they die from the radiation, the babies don't spawn) I've done well with the ion cannon, and surprisingly the blowtorch as well. Long distance runner can be handy too.

Ya i agree about long distance runner for sure, still playing around with combos

Also is it just me, or does your character move so bloody slow in this game? It's hard to dodge things when you cant move worth crap.

I did Spideroids on normal difficulty without perks and getting hit using the regular rocket launcher. It's really tough mission but doable.

Ideally you will have a rocket launcher of some kind (Standard launcher is the best) your best friends are the shield and freeze powerups. It is counter intuitive, but be aggressive and run through small openings. Take every opportunity to get powerups especially freeze and shields. If you get shields, start going for other powerups or run to the other side of the swarm, giving you more kiting time. The rocket laucher makes quick work of the splitting spiders.

Perks were available in quests by default in the original. In the new release they're disabled, though the "grim" menu can be used to re-enable them. "Grim" is also the name of the hardest difficulty level.

The most effective weapons to use on Spideroids are indeed explosives. This mostly has to do with the fact that each blast "lingers" for a moment, killing spiders and damaging new spawns, whereas other weapon classes kill parents but require another shot to damage offspring. Even ion weapons do poorly.

Mini Rocket Swarmers or the regular Rocket Launcher are by and large the best weapons for clearing quest stages, and this goes double for any that involve spideroids.

With some perks, it is nearly cheating, Got a star for "Not a scratch" on Normal after around 20 attempts. Did it with radioactive - instead of shooting, was just running next to spiders and they just all died, without producing smaller ones. Even the biggest.

Another nice perk - poison bullets (if I remember correctly), one bullet and they all die, bring new ones to life, they also die, the smaller the faster.

And plague bearer (again, if I do not mix anything) - they weirdly started running out of the field and I immediately one, just don't shoot.
