Make a Map?
I really struggled at uploading a topo map of my local area for a project I wanted to do with my students at my school. Anybody willing to take a shot at it for me? I'll pay.

I don't know if terrain.party still works, but it used to make height maps to import into cities skylines.

Unfortunately it seems to not work.... I tried to export several different maps from several different locations and every time all you get is a read me file telling you there is no height map for the area... all the time.

Doesn't matter though... making a map is just super easy.

I have had no difficulty finding height maps for my local area which by the way is about 80 miles from nowhere in every direction. The issue that I have is very tiny area covered by the height maps. That and the fact that the ratio differences mean, when you overlay the heightmap over the CS map the measurements are all off makes them nearly useless.

If you adjust the streets to match the terrain then the buildings don't fit. If you adjust the streets to fit the buildings then the buildings end up on the wrong hilltop or in the water.

Way easier as Longhaul says, to just build it all free hand in-game.
Even better.. take a workshop map you like, or resembles your local area and just landscape the heck out of it.. That is one of the first things I do in a map is Terraform everything to my liking.

I prefer to make local towns. I just wish terrain.party still worked. I know CS2 has a similar app for both CS1 and CS2, but I forget to bookmark it. DOH!

Did you follow this video?

I recently did this and it worked great. One thing that tripped me up is some of the height and sea level settings. Had to mess with it for a while in both the export tool and in the CS2 Map Editor, but eventually I got it.
