Version 1.0 (Alpha 22) Dev Diary
After much anticipation, I’m happy to kick off the Version 1.0 Developer Diary (formerly known as Alpha 22). Here you'll find a compilation of confirmed features and content for Version 1.0. Fun Pimp devs may occasionally post updates here[community.7daystodie.com] on what they're working on, answer questions, and give us sneak peeks into the future of 7 Days to Die.

Like in previous diaries, we want this thread to stay focused on discussing the following features and content, and other things TFP devs want to discuss. We’ll make an effort to only list confirmed features and content, not rumored or merely contemplated features that haven’t seen proof of development/implementation. Please limit discussion in this thread to these topics, so that the diary doesn’t become bloated. Chatter not pertaining to Version 1.0 may be moved or removed.

Confirmed Version 1.0 Features

New armor system
  • All new art
  • Replaces old clothing & armor systems
  • Themed armor sets like farmer, lumberjack, commando
  • Armor sets still consist of pieces that can be mixed & matched
  • Acquire and wear the complete set for a bonus
  • First person hands reflect what you’re wearing

New character system
  • All new player character base models to choose from
  • Customize appearance with different parts like face, eyes, hair, facial hair
  • Redone animations to support the new characters & armor
  • New shaders for hair, eyes, and skin

  • Individual zombies will spawn with one of several albedo texture variants

Optimization/Performance
  • A new window tinting system makes window glass opaque until you get close. Occluding the interior improves performance, especially for skyscrapers.

  • New lighting update manager
  • Ambient occlusion better handles large amounts of props (source)[community.7daystodie.com]

  • Gameplay balancing is ongoing

Console Edition
  • Version 1.0 will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S along with Windows/Mac/Linux.
  • It will be the same game on PC and console, with the same features & content.
  • TFP are in talks hoping to offer a discount for players that own the legacy 2016 console release.

Good to see a lot of the work being done on Alpha 22.

I suppose this means we aren't likely to see an Alpha 21.3 release?
I won't ask about new enemies, or more variability of maps (instead of - Everything but the forest, in the middle), these are probably unattainable goals for the developers.
But I will ask about more simple, from my point of view, just two simple things.
1) When Revolvers can not be equipped with silencers)?
2) When will it be possible to save your game settings? So you don't have to spend an extra couple minutes clicking on the same thing.

And a very simple thing...... like introducing an option to Disable Idiot Training. When you play not the first dozen (and some people a hundred) games, it only makes you angry. And only four skill points for it, not enough. It is better to remove it altogether, add to the options to possibly Disable Training.

You already have this option. Just go into your quests and cancel it.
is there any chance can we get a boat in game i really miss the raft we had in early alphas cause i use to build on a island make and entire fortress i know there is modding but is that coming back anytime soon also any new weapons coming to the game?

It's possible. If they find some fixes and optimizations that work with A21 without breaking anything they could do it. You are correct though that It isn't very likely.

If I remember correctly there was a short time when wood blocks floated on water and so you could build a "raft" or more precisely a platform on the water. But there was never a water craft type of raft that could transport you over the water. If you played with one then it had to have been a mod.
