Seriously though, thanks. First thing I do is check for patch notes or forum posts when I see an update.

And in the folder config.ini which reflects the change I could make with the config tool.
The tactical burn and rebuild strategy might just be the easiest and quickest way to fix that.
Note: I'm saying this because the folder you're identifying isn't the saved games folder. That's an old folder from an old structure and the steam version doesn't use it. It looks for your Saved Games folder in your user folder. The only reason that error should be popping up in this case is if you somehow moved your Saved Games folder or user folder out of the standard structure and never updated your registry.
I'm also thinking your game didn't actually patch for a while, was your Steam in offline mode or something? The changes to the saved games folder happened over a week ago.
