Edit: That link has a timestamp, but I guess Steam ate it up. The ending movie starts at 16:54
I had the same thing happen with the SC credits, but didn't bother troubleshooting it. The Audio was playing so I just loaded up the credits for the game and played it at the same time in the browser. My theory at the time was that it's because I set the game to skip the intro cinematic when loading up the game, but I didn't test that either.

If you have 'grey screen' / crashes instead of ending movie and have K-Lite codec pack (or LAV Video Decoder otherwise) installed, disable MPEG4 (MPEG-4 part 2) support in LAV Video Decoder formats list as LAV decoder cannot handle this video.
Same may apply for some other community decoders based on libavcodec so trying this (disabling MPEG4 support in such) may be viable not only for LAV decoder.
Necroposting or not this was basically just in time for me. Great bit of troubleshooting, although I've not a clue how anyone worked this out.
disabling the MPEG-4 part 2 in LAV works like a charm, opening video doesnt crash and finally can continue the game
I'm just wondering if it will affect other video formats in my laptop for disabling that? I dunno what that thing does so maybe a bit of info there??
sorry for necroposting
