Creepy greetings, minions!

We’ve been offline for a few days here due to the PGA event. If you follow us on social media or are part of our Discord server[discord.com], you’ve probably seen photos of our fantastic stand and Kairi’s cosplay as Moriana! It was an unforgettable experience—so many players joined us to worship our necromancess and enjoy the game! Thank you to everyone who visited!

However, it’s time to get back to reality. To celebrate the approach of Halloween, we’re rolling out a minor but intriguing update for some of you. The time has come to unveil a brand-new skin for Moriana!

THE WITCH IS IN THE HOUSE

Many of you have asked whether there will be other playable heroes in Be My Horde. Our answer is a firm ‘no.’ Moriana is the protagonist (antagonist?) of our game, and we intend to keep it that way. BUT that doesn’t mean we can’t offer our seductive and powerful necromancess some alternative attire!

With today’s update, we’re introducing a new building in the Dominion that lets you change... Moriana’s look!

To start, we’re launching an alternative skin in honor of the end of Spooktober. This will be available once you raise the new building! And yes, that’s our hint that more skins for Moriana are on the way. We’ll need a little more time to roll them out, so for now, enjoy channeling your inner sexy... witch.

DICK IS COMING

The next stage in our Early Access journey with Be My Horde is marking the official end of the first level before we begin developing the next one. And what better way to do it than with an epic, intense BOSS FIGHT?!

Meet Richard III Ovine, King of the most powerful realm on Earth and a huge enthusiast of sheep. Moriana has been wreaking havoc in his kingdom for far too long, and now he’s ready to take matters into his own hands and attempt to stop the unruly necromancess! Of course, we’re counting on you to find a way to defeat him!

We’ll be sharing more info on the boss and the update’s release window soon. Trust us; you won’t have to wait long!

BE MY ZOMBIE

What else? What else? Oh, we know! Sometimes, you feel like you want to kill zombies, and sometimes like, you want to lead them. Well, now you can do both. We team up with Awesome Games Studio to bring you a completely new bundle. Yet Another Zombie Survivors joins forces with Be My Horde to provide you with a truly undead package!

DEVELOPING THE DEVELOPERS' TEAM

We know we’re repeating ourselves, but we’d like to once again thank everyone who visited our stand at PGA. Seeing so many players enjoy Be My Horde is a dream come true. It was also a fantastic chance for the whole Polished Games team to connect in person. As you know, we all work remotely, so although we regularly speak, face-to-face meetings are rare. We’re grateful for the time together. Be My Horde has been more than just a project; it’s brought together an incredible development team!

Has the difficulty been ramped up?

I was having fun with this game moving up through the hard modes but lately I've been getting taken out even at base difficulty setting. This is already taking the new card system into account.

Correct me if I'm wrong but...

... summoning Circles are, in their current form, absolutely useless... especially during Level III. The Summoning Circles would make a lot more sense if they'd spawn a large group of weaker units that you can actually capture instead of spawning a circle of overpowered units which will wipe your entire horde. Perhaps there's something I'm not understanding about horde-building but I've just activated a Summoning Circle and suddenly I was surrounded by a cavalry circle which wiped my entire horde... my h...

25 minute mark

Well, since at the 20 minute mark we get rain and by the 25 minute mark the whole ground is covered in blood, it would be quite nice seeing the rain turn to blood as well.

POLISH UPDATE, CAST INTERVIEW, MORIANA COSPLAY AND MORE - how are we doing?

Hello, Minions!

Just two days ago, we shared our latest video devlog with you, and we already have a ton of new updates to reveal! And when we say “a lot,” we mean it. As we’re sitting down to write this announcement, we’re not even sure where to begin. So, apologies in advance if this gets a bit chaotic. Without further ado, let’s dive in!

A POLISH(ED) UPDATE

We promised to bring new languages to Be My Horde, and we’re keeping that promise! The first language is now available—our very own Polish! The update is live, and this rollout served as a test run for adding new languages. It helped us refine the process, so you can expect more languages to be implemented more smoothly and quickly in the future. Stay tuned! But for now… zachęcamy naszych rodaków do zagrania w Be My Horde w języku polskim!

But that’s not all. Along with the Polish language, we’re delivering some graphic improvements, fixes, and two things a lot of you were asking for - an optional health bar and keybindings!

Check out the full patch notes below:

💀 New language: Polish;
💀 Added Keybindings;
💀 Added the optional Health Bar;
💀 Accessibility option "Hold to Necromance" changed to "Toggle Instant Cast." When this is available, you need to click a button only once during your run, and Moriana will resurrect minions automatically. Clicking a button a second time turns off automatic resurrection.

ART
💀 Improved the look of the starting location - blood animation added;
💀 Fixed the Vampiric Strike VFX bug;
💀 Fixed the visibility of the experience bar;
💀 Fixed some issues with the crater created by the Sheep explosion;
💀 Fixed the flickering and chromatic aberration in the building animation;
💀 Fixed the bug with Moriana's speed boost VFX.

FIXES:
💀 Fixed the Warriors' animation glitch;
💀 Fixed the range scale with a size that could sometimes cause some units, like Paladins, not to deal damage even when the hammers come in contact with enemies;
💀 Fixed the bug, allowing to resurrect during the Revival animation;
💀 Changes in the pop-up informing about the recommendation of starting a new adventure after the latest update.

UI FIXES:
💀 Improved the perks focus navigation on the second upgrade;
💀 Save slot focus fixed;
💀 Necromancy selection icons repositioned.

BALANCE CHANGES:
💀 Perks descriptions updated;
💀 Updated the chances for certain perks to appear.

OTHER
💀 Changes in the chase and sudden death events movements;
💀 We added the function to record the number of souls in the game, which will help us greatly with potential future crashes. This data will be sent to us with the Unreal Engine Crash Report you send.

MORIANA HAS SOMETHING TO SAY

Recently, we had the incredible opportunity to sit down with none other than Amber Lee Connors! The super-talented voice actress who brings Moriana to (un)life gave us a behind-the-scenes look at her process. We’re excited to share this with you as it offers a closer connection to the world of Be My Horde. Expect more content like this in the future… because bosses need voices, too, right?

MORIANA IN REAL LIFE

We’re beyond excited to announce that from October 25-27, we’ll be attending PGA in Poland, one of the biggest gaming events around! We’ll have our very own booth, complete with playable stations, giveaways, and plenty of time to hang out with visitors. But wait—there’s more… MORIANA HERSELF WILL BE THERE!

We’ve teamed up with the incredible cosplayer KAIRI, who will portray Moriana at the event. That’s right, probably the first-ever Moriana cosplay is happening, and we can’t wait to show it off! Be sure to follow Kairi[www.instagram.com] for sneak peeks at her amazing work.

If you’re in Poznań, Poland, during the last weekend of October, be sure to visit our booth, meet the team, and grab a photo with the Lady of the Undead herself!

So, to recap: We’ve got the Polish language update along with fixes, an interview with Amber Lee Connors, the PGA announcement, and Moriana cosplay news! We think that’s all for today. Over the next week and a half, we’ll be focused on the event, but shortly after PGA, we hope to have even bigger updates for Be My Horde to share with you.
