Well, If you have same problem as me, go visit the Daedalic page and download the savegame01 which starts after the cutscene.

I just changed HD Video to SD Video for the cut scenes. That was the end of the crashes.

Slight thread necromancy to add a solution that worked for me: I ran the compatibility troubleshooter on memoria.exe . (In your Library, just right click then Manage>Browse Local Files to get to it. It spat out run in Windows 8 Compatibility Mode, and that got me through the first cutscene without crashing and without going to SD.

Crashed after the credit sequence lol

Yeah this crashes, needs launcher to be fixed or whatever. Right after beginning credits. I don't know why or how this goes unfixed.

The only way to fix this for me was to go to settings and change full screen to windowed full screen.
