The "creator" no longer works on the game. Development is being done by a modder and is only targetting quality of life changes. There shouldn't be any changes that directly affect game balance.

There hasn't been an update for the game since 2017, so if things seem different since you last played, it might mean that you have one of the beta branches for NT selected in your Steam Library. You could change it back to None to go back to the live version. The betas are preview/testing builds for the next update, whenever that happens.
