Perfect starting place for Fate.

Honestly it is not good enough for the price tag or for the hype surrounding it. After finishing the fate route I can say that I'm so tired of all superlatives in the prose, every pain is "the most pain", every beauty is "the most beautiful thing" and etc. All girls are fawning over the MC as is common in Japanese media and again is insufferable.

How can Tohsaka just leave the war and never do anything again? Important characters are left alone for more than half of the VN and only appear again in the Epilogue.

Shirou's friend from school that lives in the Temple is never mentioned even though we see that the temple is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the later parts, why Shirou, the "champion of justice", don't even remember that he has a friend living in the temple?

How Illya is allowed to live with everyone with such weak protests from the people? She almost crushed Tohsaka to death, killed Archer, tried to kill Saber and Shirou and the repercussions aren't there, there isn't even an "I'm sorry" from her part. Tohsaka protests Shirou's decision for like 1 scene and then it's done.

And in the perspective of the VN some choices are just luck based, what you mean when I got a DEAD END because I didn't follow Saber after she start jumping on buildings and told me to stay where I was? There is a bunch of choices where you really don't have much to go on and will just have to pick something and hope for the best.

The ending of fate route with Gilgamesh strongest attack being completely stopped by the Sheath is just horrendous, what an anti-climatic conclusion. Same with Shirou having the capability of replicating Noble Phantoms at the EX level, simply the most broken ability shown in the VN...

I was excited at the beginning to see UBW, but I fear that I cannot deal with the writing enough to see what the plot has to offer.
