It is not as scary as The Dark Descent, but I really like the setting and overall story.

It's about BLOODY time I write a review for this game.
Disclaimer: Yes, I'm a massive Amnesia fan so this may play a bit on my review.

Here's the basics : It's an horror FPS, following Amnesia TDD but with a whole different story. Gameplay-wise, it's very similar altough this time you have no inventory.

Next I'll talk about ambiance, monsters, story etc, but keep in mind we all have our preferences, so what works for someone may not work for someone else.
In my case it did work perfectly. The ambiance is very dark, creepy and in some cases borderline claustrophobic. Being surrounded by all those machinery and noises while you know there's something lurking for you in the darkness is quite an experience.

Speaking about the monsters I'd say it's 50/50. You will get that adrenaline rush but at some point you'll realize you can easily outrun them which makes the horror factor go down a bit.

What I said before regarding preferences will apply here too : The story. Personally, it had me hooked until the end. It has links with TDD. Unfortunately, I can't go into details since I don't want to spoil.

Lastly (cause I don't wanna make a 200 sentences review), I really don't get why this game was hated by a portion of the fans. I think it suffers too much comparison with it's predecessor TDD, but keep in mind it's NOT TDD. TDD is and will forever be the GOAT of Amnesia games, but this one is also well worth it.

Add to that the fact that you can now find it for super cheap, which makes it an unmissable classic to have IMO.

Or you can go try "Amnesia Rebirth" but trust me, this one is a thousand times better!

It is a really frustrating experience, loved the story so far, shared the same aspects and quality with the Dark Descent, however, the rest of it is a mess, not bad at all, since it tries to be more like a walking simulator (and a good one) but coming from something like the Dark Descent, it feels bad, most of the mechanics are gone, so, it gives you the feeling that's more like a demo or something else outside of what Amnesia is. Not a bad game at all, but badly directed, the story was my main reason to recommend it (even better if you like walking simulators)
