That's right. For those interested, please refer to the Stoic-Forum post given by strange_carrots in the OP. There, you can find a tool to unpack/view/edit the .json.z files, as well as other helpful info (console/dev/debug mode).
That said, I don't think they plan to "lock" the content in some way... Those who pre-ordered got Tryggvi (along with a -20% discount and 3 audio-tracks). Those that didn't preorder (for whatever reason) and that don't mind getting their hands "dirty" can also play with Tryggvi
Add in some customisable spells... could be the greatest ever. The more customisable the better, and maybe GM's could even automate everything and release it for people to play through without their control..
I totally agree. I'd even like to see a video-game RPG relying on that isometric 3rd-person view of the world, and those animations. Perhaps Stoic will considering such a venture, after they finish with the next two games of the trilogy...
To enable that, you must have access to the in-game console. To have access to the console, you must launch the game in developer mode. So, here's the whole "walk-through"
1. Open your Steam Library
2. Right-click on "The Banner Saga" and select "Properties"
3. In the "General" tab (the first one), click on "Set Launch Options..."
4. Type "--developer" (without the quotes, " ") in the box, and hit OK
5. Launch game as you would normally and load your savegame.
6. Hit CTRL + SHIFT + ~ (three keys) on your keyboard simultaneously to open the console, which overlays the game while it "plays" in the background.
7. Type "saga item_all" (without the quotes) in the prompt in the bottom of the screen, and hit ENTER (you might need to hit ENTER to start typing; am not sure about that, though). I believe that a message should appear in the console-log, stating that all items have been added, or something like that.
8. Close the console using, again, the CTRL + SHIFT + ~ keystroke.
9. Go to your Hero screen. Hopefully, all items should be there...
Hope this helps
Thanks for this. Very helpful for me as well.
Try Roll20.net it's free, useful, but no where near as pretty... NO WHERE!
