What are you going on about? You get Tryggvi when you start the Rook and Alette story.

Or, is it different on iOS? Do they lock characters and make them in app purchases? That would be way sucky if they did.

Not on PC, Tryggvi is not available on PC for new buyers anymore ;(

Hmm, well that's weird and kind of stupid on the developers part. I bought the game when it first came out, and I get Tryggvi without any problem. Why would they change the game and lock him out? Is he overpowered or something?

Yes
For Method 1, There is no more "tryggviunlocked" variable to change
For Method 2, There is no more "Saga set" command.
For Method 3, I think they removed the old variable that unlocked Tryggvi altogether although I don't know (I replaced the files they modified to download and it still not working"

Hmm, indeed... They seem to have changed something(s). I know for a fact that many of the file-structure changes they implemented for the portable/console ports made the game "safer" which in turn made modding much harder. Same thing might have affected this tryggvi-ulnock mod. I will look more into it and get back to you.

I just confirmed that Method#3 works (edting the saga1.json.z master-file, and setting start=1 in the tryggtviunlocked variable) whereas Method #2 (setting the above variable on-the-spot) surely does NOT work. Not sure about Method#1 (edting save-file) yet.

EDIT -- When I confirm Method#1, I am gonna update that stoic forum post/thread as well.

Does Method #3 still work? I've never had access to Tryggvi, and would have been happy to play as him had I known about these games before the first one's preorder window timed out.
