What does this game focus on?
I started it, and don't get what I should be expecting.
It has far too much dialogue with characters I don't yet care about or know.
Is it going to be the main thing?
(the combat, the two instances of it I had in 30 minutes, was confusing - and seemed rather primitive)

It's mainly story (there's a lot of choices to be made along the way) and turn-based fights.

I believe the sir is inquiring about the quality of the story: since it's somewhat (too) lackluster for the gentleman's palate. And the combat--a similar suspicion.

I didn't know that this game was supposed to be role-playing before starting, so the dialogue with choices (instead of combat - that I expected) got me confused.
It is probably just not for me. At all.
I don't get role-playing games.

What a negative mindset to start a new game with.. it's one thing if a game is not for you. But then just say that, rather than claiming "Too much dialogue" and "Primitive" &"Confusing"(bit of a contradiction) combat, when a game is still introducing concepts to you. Just seems a little closed-minded after playing for a few minutes, based on you mentioning they've only talked about work so far.

If anything I think for the deep and immersive storytelling of a game that literally has the word 'saga' in the name, they do a really good job of keeping character exposition and dialogue to a minimum and keeping each storyline engaging as you get introduced to this world.

Not really a contradiction.
"Primitive" - because all the people on the table are armed with swords, and don't seem to be very different in what they can do.
"Confusing" - exactly because you can't tell if this is it, or you are supposed to find something that makes it function.
I'm not "close-minded" about it - it's just really hard to tell what I am even supposed to be doing there.
For example, there are plenty of games that prominently feature combat - but are not "about" it. And you just have to tolerate the boring parts to get to the thing the game wants to do well.
Alternatively, there are games that don't do plot almost at all - X-COM, for example - and to enjoy them, you need to find the combat enjoyable.
This is why I asked this question (but may have phrased it negatively after a negative initial impression).
