That fight took me a fair few goes at it. Monk headbutt seemed to be good for damage, and as it has a cool down on it, use it early as possible to get more uses of it; same for the flaming Yaoguai transformation. I just used the starting stance, but can't remember how I specced the build at all, sorry.

I'm bad at the game, and beat this guy, as well as some of the other bosses I've struggled with, so I'm sure you'll be able to get there soon. Learning to read the visual and audio cues is the best advice I can give. Dodging at the perfect moment is a really good skill to master, and then using that ability with upgrades that reward you for being capable will make you more powerful for the entire game.

Fast tho, so you have to learn the tells, which is what all of this game is about really.

It'll take you a few tries, try learning to read the cues for when he is about to lunge. Don't be overly greedy as it will cost you your health and in the long run the one/two extra hits are not worth it.

I used Guangmou for this fight, it was easier to activate without taking damage and your poison will inflict damage over time. Make use of the Red Tides transformation the continuous burn damage definitely helps chip away at his health.
