At the end of Round 1, make sure you have enough to pick up a Glock 18C (DLC), sell a single revolver if needed. However, make sure you have enough ammo to get through round 2...
Use the Glock 18C sparingly until you get get enough ammo for it. The starter revolver(s) can be refilled quite cheaply throughout and are decent.
By the end of Round 3, buy a single magnum. This is in case you get a scrake in Round 4...
By the end of Round 5, buy a second magnum. This is primarily for killing big zeds that really start to show up in Round 6 and beyond.
By the end of Round 6, buy a single piranha pistol (DLC) and use that for parrying / shooting blades
Add a single Deagle when possible and ditch the starter revolver if you still have it...
---------------------
If playing with others, you can probably skip the single piranha pistol and go Double Deagle instead for more firepower and add an HMTech 101 pistol for healing others. You should also upgrade the HMTech 101 once if possible... (I haven't played much HOE with Gunslinger in a team)
SPX is arguably the best scrakes killing weapon, incredibly economical at 650dosh (that's saying something on a perk what's already so eco friendly) and has a huge damage reserve compared to your pistols.
The deagles are amazing, super manageable recoil, super high fire rate and hits all the breakpoints you want them too - small ammo pool though so beware.
AF2011s are slightly worse deagles but with more total ammo and a larger mag making them a bit more forgiving - the spreads a pain.
Magnums are also good, they're burstier with longer downtime which means they have less DPS overall but the flinch/stumble/rhythm makes them nice to use.
Honestly most weapons when upgraded to T3 or T4 end up usable. Just avoid the spitfires and HX25 and you can't go too wrong.
If you joined at the start use the 1858s and once they're empty sell them
You should be able to buy a single deagle in the first trader time
At the next trader drop it to buy another deagle (getting the ammo you'd lose by upgrading to dual deags) get some 9mm ammo to conserve deag ammo.
The next wave you can then buy an SPX this will kill larges for you.
Then after that buy your AFs or magnums 1 at time.
If you join later on buy an SPX first and a single deag if you can afford it. SPX easily out performs a single deag for larges and is cheaper than the T4+ singles.
You can also upgrade the SPX with a pair of dual T4 pistols (like AFs or upgraded deagles) and then take a single pistol for trash.
The upgrade makes the SPX 7 shot FPs and makes the 5 tap on SCs possible without needing any ReU.
In that case I'd simply not buy the 2nd deag and get the SPX upgrade after getting your T4 daulies.
Or you can grab a med pistol, the first upgrade is fairly cheap at 500dosh, doesn't increase the weight and let's it hit all the 9mm breakpoints while also healing.
Which one is SPX? I can't find such weapon in store? Give me exact name of it.
Rifle, not pistol. One of the standard in-game weapons not DLC.
In terms of pistols you'll find that the deagles, m1911s, and AF2011s have very similar reload cancel timing/animations which makes them easier to get up to speed with than the revolvers.
Both weapons have little recoil and have snappy fire rates.
Both of their reload animations don't shake or obstruct the screen unlike other weapons.
Both weapons don't have a horrible screen jolt when you switch off of them, unlike the bloody AF2011s.
The M1911s only begin to keep up with the Deagles once you upgrade it twice (1950 dosh in total. I know. It's probably not worth it, but they're fun.)
Can't go wrong with Deagles, M1911s (Pack-a-Punch twice) with a medic pistol.
gunslinger has no almost no recoil with most of his weapons, you would eventually find out that no guns matter but headshots is what matters for the perk's damage. the magnum, is your safe heaven if you find yourself struggling with large zeds, other than that you're 100% good with whatever same for the deagle.
A single colt 911, reloads fast, fires faster.
Not a pistol, I know, but it's arguably the best weapon for mediums and larges in the Gunslinger's kit on account of hitting marginally harder than the .500 Magnums while only costing $650.
