COH won't launch "Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device...."
I already have COH2 and THAT is running fine. Have played COH years ago but not on steam so I buy that as I was nostalgic. Fire it up and get..."Failed to find a supported hardware rendering device..." Have a 3080ti with new drivers. Of course, I have tried most solutions I have found online though most of them are years old. I also installed it on an HP laptop with an Intel Xe GPU. That was running fine until last night when it started to have really bad jaggies then the screen goes black.
Hoping to get some help from the community here.

Keep resolution to 1920x1080 max. (1K). I get that message in other games where resolution far surpasses what the game was designed for.

Tried that, still the same error message. Realize that I did it on the PC as I can set that in the game as I can't even start it. :). Thanks anyway!

I should also mention that COH used to work fine on my laptop with an intel Xe chip. Now, it starts fine then everything gets huge diagonal lines that get fatter then its all over the place. The audio continues but the units are no longer visible and the huge jaggies eventually flood the whole screen. I don't really know what the hell is going on in this game...
Yeah, iGPU for gaming and as cheap as intel, NO. Invest in a $1500 min. gaming PC.
For low games you can even get by with 4th gen. but I suggest 5th gen. (500 series MBs), as 6th gen. becomes standard and the old sells cheaper.

For clarification, COH never started on my desktop PC with a 3080ti. It did work on the laptop for a while then the above started.
In modern windows, your settings of turning off iGPU will fake 'work'. You need to turn it off in the BIOS. That way the OS has no choice but to use the dGPU.
