Best Elder Scrolls game when it comes to exploration, lore and writing.

I am playing this game for the first time in 12+ years. My first experience with Morrowind was 22+ years ago on Xbox. The awe and wonder of the game lead me to the Elderscrolls forums, where I first learned about modding and dreamed of having a PC of my own to experience it through. I played it again when I built my PC 13+ years ago but without any mods and remembered exactly why I loved it originally while eagerly awaiting the release of Skyrim.

Now, I've actually installed Tamriel Rebuilt (something I had admired and yearned to experience from when I was a forum regular), as well as Morrowind's Extended Textures, and Grass for Tamriel Rebuilt mods. Before I even experienced the mainland of Morrowind, I was sucked back into the awe of Vvardenfell itself and enjoying quests/adventures/journey's that I have not experienced in years. The atmosphere itself sucked me back in and reminded of exactly why this is my favorite Elderscrolls game, and probably why it always will be. Oblivion and Skyrim are definitely enjoyable and I will play through them again, but Morrowind felt so alien, foreign, and mysterious when I first played through it, and the fact that it still feels that way today all of these years later makes me know that I will come back to it again and again for probably the next 20 years too.
