Feature request: browse local compatdata
Games in library have context menu entry for browsing local files, there also should be an entry for browsing compatdata directory, because it is quite annoying to get appid and then to look for compatdata manually.
Compatdata has savegames and config files, that user may want to inspect.

the "compatdata" folder is where Proton/Wine stuff everything on the Windows side (save games, configs and what not) and yes... I totally agree that it should be made easier to directly browse those files...
It would be nice to have that feature, but until then.

Select properties for the game, look under updates for game app id, just below updates select installed files and browse local files, then in the address bar at the top of the folder that opens click on steamapps, then just select the compdata folder and then the number.

This is the best short cut I know to get the game number and into the folder faster.
2nded, or 3rded... Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone have the impression (or evidence) that the devs actually monitor the Suggestions/Ideas forum?

I doubt it, because if they did they would've fixed the notification system years ago. People've been posting that one so many times it's a running joke. And that's just one example.
I go there from time to time, but my intent is mostly to point out that there's a problem, I'm not expecting them to actually do anything.

Notice also that valve has a "let the user vent" policy, they prefer this to confrontation or support tickets, etc. It's a bit like "close doors" buttons on elevators that don't actually do anything, just serves as a black hole waste basket for user frustration so the user thinks something gets done and stops bothering people with it.

Which is not to say they entirely ignore it, but it's pretty obvious they go there randomly and cherry pick the things they feel like picking up.
