Report a translation problem
Event Viewer tells me the cause of the crash every time is nvgpucomp32.dll, 32 bit part of an nvidia driver. I have the latest nvidia drivers installed, and NO other game crashes for me except this update for HL2. I went back to the legacy build and played for hours.
Open "Event Viewer" from your Start menu and, under "Windows logs", select "Application". You can filter the list by error, events etc.
You might be able to find a detailed explanation as to why the application unexpectedly shut down.
