If you look at the date the Ultrawide patch came out the mod on Nexusmods.com goes private/removed. Considering it's EXACTLY the same I'm about 1000% the "fix" in the game is just the user's mod.
These guys are very incapable of software development for some reason. I assume it's due to a lot of short contract hires in their studio. So the games after release teams probably pretty small.
I want to point out they likely hired the modder due to time constants of a promised feature that they couldn't manage to do. It took the modder I think 2 days to make. I keep point out this strange paradox with their studio. The irony of a "AAA" game needing the help of a lone modder is hilarious if you ask me. They might be having a hard time reaching the relevant modder for support.
So I would not expect a fix if they hired one random lone modder to do their homework it doesn't look good.
I could be wrong but seems like a strange coincidence.
Your allegation that the developers took a nexus mod is incredibly dubious. I think the modder made it private because the developers had supposedly addressed the issue in an official patch that day.
I think I should make it clear that this thread is not for slandering the developers, NOR is it to focus on the FOV mods that have yet to adequately solve the issue. This thread is purely to aggregate existing reports of this problem, and to provide support resources so users can properly report their issue to the developers.
Space Marine 2 is a dream come true game, and it's understandable that ultrawide gaming is just starting to gain major traction. The developers have officially acknowledged that 32:9 ultrawide support isn't working, and they have apologized for failing to meet expectations.
We are not here to trash them. We are just here to make sure that our voice is adequately and proportionally represented so that the issue can be addressed on a timeline that makes sense.
How many weeks did they take to do basic work on the networking and synchronization of players on a match. Close to two months?
How many months to balance, put in proper anticheat protections, for PvP......they still haven't. Though I will admit at least you can't just turn off EAC like it's not there any more. An amateur mistake.
There is a clear issue with basic programming.
That's cute. It's relevant to the discussion whether you approve or not. You're acceptance is not needed.
But did you just get the game recently? Numerous people STILL NOW can not play the game but it was the worst on launch and frequently required going back to the main menu to reconnect to the servers due to EOS being an issue. This issue existed until recently.
If you were a game developer you would know that crunch time in development tends to be very aggressive in the industry often filling studios with temp hires who end up getting fired at the end of a development cycle.
Get off your horse.
For the last time, this thread is not for dragging the developers.
They really need to fix the FOV on 32:9 UW before we even talk about adding an FOV slider.

A way to thank them for the work for our future Space Marine II.
2 months after the release, it is still impossible to play the native version on a 32/9 screen. I am disgusted... I feel like I threw 90€ out the window...
Some independent studio demos from the last steam neo fest were compatible with our 32/9 screens
