Early Access Update - Ship Stats & Fittings!

Fire and repair directly from the ammunition in the Ship's Hold

Cannonballs and Ship Repair Kits can now be consumed while in the Ship's inventory. If there are no cannonballs/ship repair kits in the ship inventory, then they will be consumed from the player's inventory.
Note that the ship always fires the Last Cannonball in the hold (last in first out)

Ship Resistances and Fittings!

Ship UI now reflects the ammo type to be fired, the resistances of the ship, amount of repair kits, and crew supplies in the ship's hold. Total of Bulkhead Levels and Crew levels are also displayed in the center of the ship wheel icon.

New Repeatable Fleet Battle Bounty Mission

New Repeatable Quest at the Pangea Bounty Board "Dread Pirate Fleet".
A fleet will spawn at one of four random locations on the map. Upon destroying the fleet, players will obtain the stamp rewards. Note that this is a harder encounter than most missions in the bounty board. You will need a well prepared ship to beat this encounter.

Other Changes

Increased weight of Cutter, Soul Queen, Dark Soul Queen, and Mary Rose.
Increased Warboat and all larger ships' resistance by 2-5% per level.
Increased Mary Rose dreadnaught class damage increased from 200 to 500 (while stationary).
Cutter Interceptor Class Damage increased from 100 to 150 (while in motion).
Increased zoom out view for Soul Queen, Dark Soul Queen, and Mary Rose.
Ship shortcuts have been moved to the right side of the Hotkeys while mounted
Message in a Bottle in the Forest permanent island allows "set spawn point" when the player is 31 or higher.
Golden Shovel and Fishing Pole are now repairable at Captain Nyx.
Plasma can now be sold to Trader using Exchange.
Crated Goods at small islands and Merchant Fleet can now be broken with Pickaxe, Spear, Knife and Sword as well as the Axe.
Added recipes to the Workbench that were only available in the Player Crafting "C" window: Ship Repair Kit, Building Repair Kit, Crew Supplies, Advanced Campfire, Chopping Stump, Small Storage Chest.
Increased damage of Axes and Pickaxes when hitting Treasure Caches and Cargo Crates.
Increased the amount of copper found in Stone and Copper Hurricane Chests as well as the Ghost Camp Chest.
Added Raw Hide to the loot for bunnies in the forest.
Updated Journal text in Ship section that cannonballs will be consumed from the ship's inventory.
Updated tooltip of Ship Repair Kit that it needs to be in the ship's inventory.
Updated tooltip of cannonballs Copper, Poison, Iron and Bio that they need to be in the ship's inventory.
"Sort" button is now visible clearly on the player inventory
Added shortcut on Login screen for Escape key to open the Login Settings window.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where Market Stalls were difficult to place on the trading dock.
Fixed an issue where melee weapons were taking durability damage during Naval Combat
Fixed an issue with Target cycling using keyboard shortcut T that was not always targeting nearby enemies
(Now, pressing T will cycle through nearby targets, prioritizing what is in front of the player rather than behind)
Fixed an issue where Dark Soul Queen sails were conflicting with the ocean.
Fixed an issue where Sun Lounger and Round Stool had the wrong title
Fixed an issue with movement for Gorgoss and Captain Khar enemy ships.

New Look, New Scope Mode, New Missions!

Improved Visuals

Improved visuals for tropical biomes including lighting, new grass, rocks, flowers, and land details.
Improved visuals for forest biomes including new trees, bushes, grass, flowers and ground details.

Scope Mode: New, Improved Combat System

A Scope may be accessed while mounted by pressing right click
All cannon boats now have a right click to scope and left click to fire feature
A Player may target enemies simply by hovering their mouse on the enemy in scope mode.
A Player may now fire the cannons while in scope mode by simply pressing left click

Other Changes:

Player ship speeds increased by 150%
Increased zoom speed while mounted on a ship and also while mounted in Scope Mode
Optimized the fog in certain areas for better performance
Players can now speed up the night by sleeping in a bed or hammock
Optimization tweaks in mid-game.

New Missions and Items

New Dread Pirate II Stamp Quest at the Bounty Board.
Accepting the quest will spawn the Dread Pirate Ship at a random location
New Treasure Map Stamp Quest at Captain Nyx.
New Tropical, Forest and Swamp Surveyors can be accessed at Sir Jim's Stamp.
Hidden Islands can now be controlled by the players by using a surveyor (see note)

Note: Placing a surveyor will guarantee the "hidden island" of your choice to spawn next (within 1 hr).
Placing more than 1 Surveyor on the land at a time will result in the last placed Surveyor's island showing. Surveyors automatically disappear after a few hours and may need to be obtained again.

Bug Fixes

Fixed an issue where screen resolution drop down was not reflecting current resolution
Fixed an issue where the front pyramid door doesn't always spawn.
Fixed an issue where the vault could have incorrect items on multiplayer.
Fixed an issue with the hurricane clouds where light would flash significantly brighter or darker based on sun location.

Patch EA002 - Combat System and Camera Update

Combat System Changes:

A Scope may be accessed while mounted by pressing right click
All cannon boats now have a right click to scope and left click to fire feature.
A Player may now target enemies simply by hovering their mouse on the enemy in Scope mode
A Player may now fire the cannons while in scope mode by simply pressing left click while the enemy is targeted in the scope mode.

Camera Changes:
Players can now zoom out further when mounted on a boat using the mouse scroll wheel.
UI Changes:
Improvements to minimap icons to factor in most forms of color blindness.
New Vehicle UI on the bottom left of the screen
New UI mouse icons now show up when mounted - showing how to use scopes
New UI mouse icons now show up when wielding a sword showing how to parry (shown only when not mounted on a vehicle.
A quantity total is now displayed in the Crafting window showing the player how many units of an item may be crafted. (For example Crew Supplies x 20)

Bug Fixes and other changes:
Fixed an issue where some achievements were not completing after level 35.
Fixed an issue where crops and livestock products were not going into the nearest silo when multiple silos were placed.
Temporal Diamonds can now be sold in Tropical and Forest Market Stalls.

Patch EA001 - Inverted Mouse Setting

New Inverted Mouse option in Settings in game. Look in Esc > Settings when in game.
Dread Pirate Hat and White Pirate Hat can now be repaired.
Crew Agreement quest from Captain Nyx now gives Crew Supplies as well as Stamps.
Carpenter Bench and Chopping Stump no longer take damage while being used.
Players can no longer damage their own buildings while accidentally attacking
Reduced plasma requirement for Mary Rose Miniature Hull.
Pirate Skeleton Key now also opens Pirate Chests and frees the Scared Crew.
Increased the range of Workbench and Miniaturizer significantly.

Fixed an issue where Bulk Exchange wouldn't work if a non-exchangeable item was selected.
Fixed an issue with mist blocking the view while sailing in a Naval Cutter.
Fixed an issue with scrolling in the Workbench recipes
Fixed translations for Pilot's Log item.

We have some great news to share today -

Forgotten Seas is officially joining forces with Freedom Games[freedom.gg]!

For those of you who may not know, having a game publisher like Freedom Games greatly helps indie devs like myself focus on game development while they handle all the behind-the-scenes magic. From helping manage store pages to crafting marketing campaigns and even helping the game shine at both digital and live events, publishers help in all the aspects that indie developers often struggle with.

Freedom Games felt like home right from the get-go! We had worked on "Forgotten Seas" for several years before it saw the light of day. The decision to share your hard work is always a tough one. Several publishers were interested in our project, and it was clear to us that our project had outgrown our small indie team.

Freedom Games stood out clearly because of their resolve to help small indie teams, their extensive background in classic gaming, and their drive to ensure that the games offer something deeper than just the first couple hours (something that has eroded over the last decade). We like in-depth games and wanted a publisher that shared the same passion for our project, as we had. We believe that our partnership with Freedom Games will thrive in the coming years.
