What do you do in it? Grand strategy? RTS?

I would rather get you running stabble.

Find you config file. (back it up as you get it working better)

Turn on Hardware mouse. Theirs is "case sensitive" and you run it around screen too fast at times. Basicaly its too slow.

Turn Off "auto loggon". Their service for FE is gone. pffft.

They sort of coppied Steam's Game Overly. Stay away from it. Useless w/o thier "login". Seems to hang. (maybe just take to freeking long to time out, or never does. I forget.)

One of THE most unique features of FE is:

1. Making your own units for your faction. way cool and over looked. Makes this faction "better" if you did well.

part 2. Asuming you did above.. If you play another faction your custom units in 1. will be used by that faction.

3. I played all factions. Made units for each. NOW I have a 'better game'...

Next I made new Sovereign's for each faction.. Now there is 2 or each faction type...

Then I started making new Factions, each with thier own Sovereign...

My best, earliest, experiance with FE..

When I got I wanted TO PLAY the FE herself.. big, bad and nasty.. cool. Ooops.

Medium/big maps with all factions. Little did I know.. heheh.

5 or 6 failures before. I was doing pretty good. Getting up there. I might actualy win this one...

Then this Juggernaught got loose.. Might not be right name. Realy big slow guy, huge axe on a telephone pole. (not really but you get the idea), Ablities: Bezerk and splash dmg. Yikes.!
Bezerk: does not stop unless he misses. Splash Dmg, every one around him also takes dmg.

Proceeds to kill All my cites. Every one. So about 100 turns in, all factions way ahead of me.. And all I got is Sov and a couple little Cyndrin demons and I am going the opposite direction that Jug' is going... Sneekumz..!

I learned so much then.. 100 or so turns later I was starting to win out. Wheew. Awsome game. I could write book of that journey. I proll'y should have.

Great game, was hooked for along time. Even did some proper mods... Many custom factions even one based of just Spiders. blah blah.. lots.
About the timeI was ready to relase my mod, way bigger than "Sorceror King" (sp?), Stardock betrayed me badly. I flushed everything and quit.

Came back a year later and rebuilt everything and better. None else ever got.

There was one unit I released in the Steam discusion boards as Text.
"Sovereign's Daughter"... Search for it here in FE or FE:LH. I forget which..

In FE:LH they took out some good game elements. I did not play long there. Came back to FE. A little later flushed all.

OOHH...

Fuzzy on details. But I may have set "Propeties Compatable" mode to XP..
Not sure, I was at Win7 or Win7/64..

Found it. Set compatablity mode to:

XP/32

I just reinstalled this game after a VERY VERY long time and it wasn't super stable checked the boards, saw this post and setting hardware cursor, turning off auto connect and setting compatibility to windows xp sorted it out and it runs smooth with no problems. Thank you BatCat.

hey man, just letting you know, fallen enchantress: legendary heroes is on sale atm, I got it, and its kept up to date, and runs a ton more smoother on my rig than the original, it has some differences, but so far im really liking it.

Just to pass it on..

I love this game, see my hrs' played. (8.8k hrs)
I am subscribed to this this msg board and will always answer any questions best I can.
