A cute, wonderful beginning to a series. I'd say it's not worth the current asking price of $49.99, maybe more like half that.

Steam deck: While I did play the game on my steam deck, there is a bug with the game where transitioning between areas in the dungeons may occasionally crash the game. This is not a problem a majority of the time, but it definitely made it a bit more annoying to play. I definitely don't recommend playing this on the deck unless you're willing to save religiously. The original version in the deluxe edition does not have this problem.

I tried the original for about an hour; it was kinda confusing. From what I saw, the remake is extremely faithful but makes it a bit more straightforward on what to do, and the art is wonderful.

Good art, good music, fun chill little game and the alchemy system was a blast. The time limit is very generous; I think I had pretty much everything complete in 3 years besides random small events.

Biggest issue are how specific some events are; some only occur on certain days. Thankfully you're able to track event requirements, but you'll have to keep track of them a lot. Also, you cannot get all events in the 5 year time limit due to the market events; it really doesn't detract from anything, though.
