Riders and Unleashed are quite high in my list.
Also, unlike Adventure 1, I actually have a reason to replay stages I've already completed besides grinding for rings or animals for the chao garden.
And the story is the best in the series by at least twelve hundred miles. It's even better when you install this mod to experience everything in order and in one free flowing arc: https://gamebanana.com/gamefiles/10687
SA2 is the best Sonic game and platformer I have come across. I always thought it was just childhood nostalgia, but playing it again as an adult has reaffirmed this
This game also has the definitive voices for every character, with maybe only Rogue being a little spotty. I think it's just because she is also the Omochao voice, so by default you find it a little annoying. Every one else has the best voice in the series. No idea what they did to Tails in every game after this...
I mean especially since this exists https://gtm.you1.cn/storesteam/app/584400/Sonic_Mania/
If you want me to talk about Modern Sonic game then there's SomeCallMeJonny who said that Colors is better than SA2 anyway and he's a great reviewer!

PS: I'm wondering if you're not the same guy as DarkSonic180
Sonic Heroes still at my nummber one cuz the stages feels wide open the best level design still with a little fighting, fly and speed system its cool and to have so many character and i really liked the final boss but yeah.
2nd Sonic Adventure 2, 3rd Sonic Adventure Dx (dreamcast converation), 4th Sonic 06, 5th Sonic Riders, 6th Sonic Riders Zero Gravity
Sonic Riders the first two are better than the 3 sonic kart racers cuz it has a animated story!
Well, good stories don't exactly make for good games by themselves, but I would absolutely agree that I had more fun with Riders than the other racing games. I say "I" because it's a very difficult game to get into with a lot of mechanics and features that a first time player will never understand, but are expected to master in order to even get anywhere in the story, but once you get it down, it's a lot of fun and a blast to play with friends who are also really good at the game, if you have any that is. And unlike Sonic Team's previous PS2 efforts, Riders 1 on PS2 actually runs and plays just as well as the GCN and Xbox versions.
All Stars Racing and Transformed are a lot more accessible and I'd recommend that one more to casual players who just want to jump right in, but Riders 1 is way more interesting as a game, both in the gameplay and story, than its sequels and the kart racers. The biggest flaw with Riders 1, which is what turns a lot of players off, myself included at first, is the incredibly steep learning curve. Zero Gravity went too far in the opposite direction - very easy to get into, but not a lot to master, but still fun for a quick play session.
Also, I really enjoyed the story in both games, Riders 1 especially! Yeah, there are some dumb things about it, but it's a racing game so it's kinda hard to establish good plots in a racing game, with Jak X being the closest comparison.
hope nintendo sees this bro
Hmm, I'll have to give that a go when I'm the other side of that battle, thanks.
Most content? You mean most actually good or just adding stuff for the sake of artificially elongating the game?
And the ranking system isn't perfect either, some stages are straight up unfair while some other are purely RNG-based.
I can understand why people like the game but let's be honest it's just for redoing the Sonic and Shadow stages to grind the chaos in the garden...
Like how people like Unleashed because they redo the day stages
