Character Utility Improvements
Battle

1. Character Utility Improvements

The first character utility improvement update for 2024 is being conducted.

Developer's Notes:

This character utility improvement consists of 8 characters, with improvements being made on aspects that felt unpleasant or unreasonable when playing as them.

While one goal was to minimize changes to how each of these characters operate, there may be some less predictable changes in DPS performance, depending on what was altered. For now, we will keep the power of each skill the same while applying the changes below, but please understand that we may need to adjust the power level of some skills down the road.

Additionally, it seems that Sanyaa is performing well in all raids right now, but since it is difficult to apply changes so soon after release, we plan to make appropriate adjustments to her once we have more data. However, we do not plan on changing the structure of the character. We will instead make changes by adjusting her damage output.

Sylas

When you are attacked by an enemy during the following, the period in which the attack animation does not occur will increase by approximately 24%.
- Wraith Slash
- Wraith Shot
- Phantom Shooter
- Cyclone Saw

Following attacks have an added aspect where Sylas can dodge enemies' attacks.
- Cyclone Crash <Enhanced Attack> (added 30 frames)
- Illusion Fist <Enhanced Attack> (added 33 frames)

Following active skills have an added aspect where Sylas can dodge enemies' attacks.
- Active: Impulse Zone (added 45 frames)
- Active: Illusion Shield (added 35 frames)

When the following attacks are successful, the number of Phantom Shards that can be obtained is increased from 2 to 3.
- Normal Attack (3rd hit)
- Normal Attack (4th hit)

When the Spirit Rend attack is successful, the amount of stamina recovered is increased from 20 to 35.

Fixed the issue where damage was occasionally applied multiple times when attacking with Wraith Slash in battle.

When acquiring a Phantom Shard through a normal attack, the duration will be displayed as a status effect.

The M. ATT and DEF effects of the Phantom Force status effect per stage are updated as follows.

When using Vision Dash, the time that Sylas can dodge enemies' attacks is increased by approximately 21%.
When using Vision Dash consecutively, the second Vision Dash can be used more quickly.

Active: Spectral Sting's projectile hit range is increased.

When using Cyclone Crash <Enhanced Attack> and Illusion Fist <Enhanced Attack>, the character can now withstand some attacks while charging for the attack.
When using Illusion Fist <Enhanced Attack> without inputting a directional key, the distance traveled is decreased.
- If you input the directional keys you will attack, moving the same distance as before.
When Cyclone Crash is used without dodging, while charging for a set duration, additional enhanced attack is activated.
When Illusion Fist is used without dodging, while charging for a set duration, additional enhanced attack is activated.
- Additional enhanced attack can inflict 15% more damage to enemies than a normal enhanced attack.

Lynn - Glaive

Killer Dart attack can be used without charging for the following attacks.
- Thunderleg
- Little Rat
- Wind Step

- It will now cost 14 Stamina when chaining the above attacks with Killer Dart.

Fixed being able to use Killer Dart without charging (by using Phoenix Feather, etc.) during battle.
- When using Killer Dart by charging while moving, the fastest time Lynn can activate it (from the moment Lynn begins charging) is increased by approximately 15 frames.
- When attacking with Killer Dart, the range at which enemies are hit is increased.
- When you use Killer Dart after Wind Step, the distance the character moves is approximately 50% of the distance of the basic Killer Dart attack.

Fixed it so Thunderleg does not chain to Iron Monkey.
When attacking with Five Finger Death, the range at which enemies are hit is increased.
When attacking with Five Finger Death, if the boss or the last monster hit is nearby, the camera will quickly rotate towards the target and the attack will happen while looking straight ahead.
Improved so that when successfully attacking with Fishtail Pole, 2 Swift Assassin Strikes are inflicted.
When attacking with Active: Iron Flag, the range of the forward explosion attack is slightly increased.
Fixed an issue where key inputs would not apply when using Thunderleg, by rapidly inputting the dodge key in succession while using Active: Jade Fox.
The attack range for Active: Chambers of Death is slightly increased.

Developer's Notes:

There was an inconvenient and unreasonable structure in place, where effectively using Glaive Lynn required near-exploits, such as using Killer Dart without charging through Phoenix Feathers, to reach her full potential.

However, considering that the "Phoenix Feather Play" has been used for a long time now, we modified it so that Killer Dart can be used immediately without charging after a specific action. Due to this update, there's an expected change in performance for the entire player base (including players who did not use the technique) so we will closely monitor her results.

Dan-Ah

When using Soul Tracer, the timing to switch to movement is adjusted to be faster without having to dodge or perform other actions.
MP Cost for using Soul Tracer is decreased from 70 to 60.
When using the Fickle Fate attack, the timing in which the enemy's attack can be offset is increased by 13% compared to previously.
When using Soul Barrier, the timing in which you can defend against enemy attacks is increased by 14% compared to previously.
When Active: Great Beyond is activated, the range at which enemies are hit is increased.

When using Final Gate: Purge and Final Gate: Unleashed, and then using Curse Breaker without inputting a directional key at the same time, the distance traveled is decreased.
Improved it so that stamina is recovered by 15 when the Curse Breaker attack is successful.
When using Soul Tracer, the period in which you can dodge enemy attacks is increased by 28%.

When using Soul Strike, the range at which enemies can be attacked is slightly increased.
The timing for chaining Spirited Dash after attacking an enemy with the additional hit from Soul Strike has been adjusted to be 8 frames faster than before.

When using Soul Barrier, the distance Dan-Ah moves backwards is decreased.
When using Soul Tracer after successfully defending with Soul Barrier, throwing weapons have improved accuracy.

When using Spirited Dash, MVT SPD is increased by 10% compared to previously.
- The timing for the dodge hit box is the same as before.

When using Active: Ritual of Ending without inputting a directional key at the same time, the forward distance traveled is decreased.
- If you input the directional keys you will attack, moving the same distance forward as before.

Delia

The conditions for the Vigor level falling are alleviated, as follows.

When successfully attacking with Rising Comet, the effect duration of Keen, Perfect Keen, and Fighting Spirit are increased by up to 1 second.
When successfully attacking with Falling Comet, the effect duration of Keen, Perfect Keen, and Fighting Spirit will increase by up to 2 seconds.

Updated Full Moon as follows:
- Updated so that when hitting an enemy with a finisher attack, you gain 20 SP.
- Updated so that after the finisher attack, it can be chained starting from the second hit of the normal attack.
- Updated so that when performing a finisher attack, the effect durations of Keen, Perfect Keen, and Fighting Spirit are increased 0.5 seconds.

Updated Active: Zenith as follows:
- Removes the effect of destroying armor when used.
- Updated Active: Zenith so that it can be used in Royal Army.
- The duration of the Fighting Spirit and Perfect Keen effects obtained upon use have been adjusted from 120 seconds to 130 seconds each, and the timing at which the effects are applied have been adjusted from after the skill animation has finished to immediately after the skill is used.
- There was a problem with the Fighting Spirit and Perfect Keen effects sometimes not applying when another animation was played, following the use of Active: Zenith. It has been adjusted as noted above.
- When using Rising Comet or Falling Comet, while the Fighting Spirit effect still remains after using Active: Zenith, the Vigor effect will be updated to Stage 3.

Rising Comet and Falling Comet are added to the Full Force activation requirement.

Added a sparkling effect to the tip of the Bastard Sword in the following situations, as well as sound effects.
- After learning Rising Comet, it can chain from Rings of Saturn.
- After learning Falling Comet, it can chain from Orbital Flurry.
- After learning Falling Comet, it can chain from Active: Cosmic Blitz.
- A dodge hit box is added in above situations, from when the effect begins until the end of the animation.

Fixed it so that Wild Star's charge attack always grants the Lv. 1 Vigor effect.
- If the attack is successful, you will gain 2 additional Vigor stages just like before, allowing you to obtain the Vigor Stage 3 effect.

Updated to allow chaining Active: Ion Thrust after the following attacks.
- Solar Flare
- Starbloom
- Lunar Assault
  - In accordance with the above changes, the skill description of Active: Ion Thrust will include the types of skills that can be chained.

The stamina consumption of Meteor Impact was reduced.

Adds the new status effect Rose's Revenge.
- When Delia successfully blocks an enemy's attack with Eclipse, a red rose effect will appear, and she will gain the Rose's Revenge status effect.
- This status effect lasts for 20 seconds and increases the damage of the next Rising Comet or Falling Comet by 30%.
- Added a description of the new status effect, Rose's Revenge, to the skill description of Eclipse.

Developer's Notes:

The penalty for Delia's powerful Active: Zenith was too strong and made it difficult to use across the game, the cycle took too long to prepare, and the Vigor effect did not fit the current raid meta. It was determined that these aspects were what made playing Delia inconvenient and unreasonable.

The effect of her armor being destroyed when using Active: Zenith made it difficult to use in content like Space Time Distortions.

We went back and forth about removing the armor destruction effect because it was Delia's unique concept... but we decided that it was just too harsh for Delia, who lacks defensive mechanics. We ask for understanding from players who prefer her original armor destruction concept.

Additionally, we made a change to continuously renew Vigor effect to stage 3 after using Active: Zenith, while the Fighting Spirit effect is active, so that players can focus on dealing damage while in that state.

Also, the Perfect Keen effect was changed to slightly increase in duration when performing certain actions. This should complement Delia's DPS performance in long battles rather than short ones.

Delia is currently showing low DPS performance in Redeemers and Space Time Distortion battles, but with the above changes we hope she will be improved somewhat.

Latiya

The following skills have been updated so they are easier to hit enemies.
- Hunt Breathing
- Rhino Rush used after Crocodile Scales

Add the following to the skill description for Hunt Breathing.
- Cheetah Strike can restore Warrior's Claw through a swinging or slashing attack with the lance.
- The above content simply adds missing parts to the explanation. Restoring Warrior's Claw is the same as before.

Letty

Updated so that the weak point can be partially destroyed when hitting an enemy with the giant bomb of Active: Letty Bomba, or when dealing damage with the ground explosion effect of the giant bomb.

Updated the following skill to enhance the bomb of Active: Firecracker.
- Dealing damage with Standing Flip or Active: Beautiful Blaze will enhance the bomb by 1 stage.

The duration of the bomb attached to an enemy via Active: Firecracker is increased from 15 seconds to 20.

When the following attacks hit an enemy within a certain range, damage is increased by 5%. When the damage increase effect is applied, the damage is marked in yellow.
- Trooper: Crushing Blow, Trooper: Twisting Blow (Normal attack 2 times - Smash Combo)
- Trooper: Piercing Strike, Trooper: Storm Smite (Normal attack 3 times - Smash Combo)
- To avoid confusion with the above effect, other damage previously marked in yellow is changed to red.

Updated Swift Recoil as follows:
- When guarding an enemy attack with Swift Recoil, cooldown decreases by 3 seconds.
- When using Swift Recoil, the long press control is removed. However, the motion can still be used with the same long movement distance by pressing the directional keys at the same time.

Projectile hit radius is increased by 30% when enemies are nearby, making it easier to hit with Kradie Blast and Kradie Burst.
Using a normal attack, after using Quick Slip or Slip Sliding, will now chain to a second normal attack.

Developer's Notes:

Letty is one of the characters in charge of Core Breakoff in a raid party, but recently (as the play time for battles has become shorter) there have been frequent instances where Letty cannot use Active: Firecracker twice. Therefore, we've added an additional effect of destroying weak points for Active: Letty Bomba.

We've also made it easier to destroy weak points with Active: Firecracker. We've increased the duration of the bomb and made it possible to enhance its stages with Standing Flip and Active: Beautiful Blaze, so that you can reliably force an explosion even in situations where you don't have time to use the Normal Attack x2 - Smash Combo or the Normal Attack x3 - Smash Combo.

Additionally, we have strengthened the damage compensation for close combat situations and corrected the issue where Swift Recoil would jump you far back and unintentionally increase the distance. Now you can fight while maintaining your desired distance.

Evie - Battle Scythe

The drain motion that follows use of the skills below is updated to be approximately 20% faster than before.
- Life Drain
- Spirit Bind
- Mark of Death
- Bloody Thread

After using the following skill, the motion when moving or standing to release will be updated to be approximately 20% faster than before.

Fixed an issue where the Active: Arcane Gate skill would not be canceled if hit by an enemy while using it.

After using the following skills, you can now chain with the Blink skill more quickly.

Time allowed to chain the next attack has been adjusted to be approximately 30% longer than before.

The activation hit box for Kasana has been updated to make it easier to activate.

The dodge range applied to the recoil-based jumps in Aerial Evasion, Handspring, and Aerial Smash have been extended to until when Grimden lands.
- Aerial Evasion and Handspring were previously structured so that the dodge zone would increase depending on the skill rank. This has been updated so that the dodge zone will be applied until the landing point, regardless of rank.

The cooldown applied when using Aerial Evasion, after defending against an enemy attack from the front, is adjusted from 10 seconds to 5.
Adjusted the time during which you can block an enemy attack with Occluded Soul and then chain to Aerial Evasion or Handspring.
- Previously - Can be chained up to 30 frames after using Occluded Soul
- Updated - Can be chained up to 45 frames after using Occluded Soul

To more intuitively show when the Mortal Arts Shadow Ambush damage multiplier is enhanced 1 time for a set duration during Dark Charge, the Mortal Arts Enhanced status effect is added.
- When using Mortal Arts, while its Enhanced status effect is active, the status effect will end regardless of whether or not Shadow Ambush is used.
- Added relevant information to the skill description of Dark Charge.

Developer's Notes:

The method of increasing the Shadow Ambush damage multiplier through Mortal Arts after using Grimden's Dark Charge skill was only applicable by successfully doing it within a limited action time of 1 second, and it was inconvenient because it did not show when the effect was active.

To improve this part, the Mortal Arts Enhanced status effect was added after Dark Charge to make it more intuitive, and the many action restrictions were changed so that the damage multiplier will increase even when performing other actions, as long as a successful Mortal Arts was performed through Shadow Ambush while the effect is active.

Additionally, the effect duration was buffed from 1 second to 3 seconds.

With this patch, we expect that it will be easier to successfully use Mortal Arts Shadow Ambush after the Dark Charge skill.
