If you are new to the game you should probably take it up on its suggestion and enable the tutorial. There is quite a bit of information to soak in at the beginning. (Hit ESC, Select OPTIONS then OTHERS)

Besides that if you are already a couple of weeks into the campaign, there is the Info Coms, and that should give you a general idea of all the new status icons you will encounter.

The Info Coms referred to above is a button at the bottom of your Airship screen (looks like a little satellite dish) This will give you a list of status symbols and their meaning, and after that (keep scrolling down) an alphabetized list of things and concepts in the game. Hope this helps.

or just play the original game first before starting Black Reliquary, it will do you good and you will get better understanding of the most things, even tho the game overhaul is completely different in Black reliquary then in Darkest Dungeon

if you don't have tooltips showing up *at all* then rebooting the game should fix the issue. It's a problem from the base game that is hard to track and figure out.
