Kind Words 2

Kind Words 2

Why penalise fast typists and thinkers?
My main gripe is the way you are penalised for sending more than one reply in quick succession. I have been a writer - using a keyboard as opposed to pen and paper - for thirty-five years or more. I also have a quick-thinking, analytical mind capable of sensitivity and compassion and can compose my internal thoughts and reproduce them in words within seconds.

So let me do that, rather than me write several lines of hopeful, sensitive advice only for the deer to pop up and tell me I am writing too quickly and so my words are lost into the ether and I exit the software.

I imagine it's probably a protection more designed to prevent someone using bots to write lots of messages than fast typists. Either for people farming stickers to complete their sets, or just trolls who want to send out hundreds of insulting messages quickly before they get banned. The devs have put in a lot of thought into protecting users, and I'm assuming this is just another way.

Though that does sound annoying. Perhaps the deer should appear with a warning first.
I really don't think it should be a competition considering we're dealing with real people with real issues here...

But it isn't a competition? Nowhere in my post did I infer a competition or imply that I support a competitive angle when playing the 'game' ?

You did say you're "typing and replying very fast", and pride yourself on "sensitivity and compassion" - I think those two phrases are very much at odds with each other.

How it comes across to me is - you're focusing on efficiency when replying to posts, rather than really think about what you're writing and how it may affect the person requesting help. I don't think that's the right mindset, considering bad advice is easy to give and will often make a situation worse.

Please highlight the part of my post where I state "typing and replying very fast". I think you are interpreting my post to meet your own agenda.

So let me do that.
I am literally quoting what you wrote. No "bending the facts to fit my own agenda" at all here, my dude.

So I never said "typing and replying very fast", then, as you quoted me?

Maybe not, but you totally wrote it.

There you go, it wasn't too hard after all was it? Thank you.

O... kay then. Let me explain my comment, though I really didn't think I needed to, considering your quick and analytical mind.

Your previous comment reads, "So I never said those things...". Which is probably true. You may not have SAID those things, in person, but you clearly WROTE them in your opening post. Hence my comment on you probably not having SAID them. But WRITTEN, in this thread, they are there.

I'm honestly kind of baffled I had to elaborate on that.

What you mean is that you INFERRED a meaning from my post, even though that meaning was false and not what the person was saying. That's fine. We all make mistakes. You're forgiven.

Your words shouldn't be lost, they should still be there after the deer says you're going too fast and you can click 'send' again.

It's to stop spam, maybe bots. Which is especially important now we have sticker collections - some people would just be one-word replying to everything to get stickers back.

M'kay then. Believe what makes you happy, you're good at that.

Sticker-begging is def a thing around launch of 2. Not sure why, they have no out of game value I'm aware of XD

Ok, hang on, it does kick you out the reply screen when the deer says you're too fast.

It didn't do that in KW1, and I don't think it did before in KW2. Definitely a bug to me, that'll get fixed.
