Fear 1 and its episodes was the best, Fear 2 was alill less good but still amazing, Fear 3 however was the worst. Why? Well its still a good FPS game, but it does not have the scares n creeps like the first 2 games. So i would say its a good game, but i wouldnt call it FEAR. Lets just put it at that.

Same TL;DR as FEAR 2: FEAR 1 fans are going to be disappointed, while everyone else may find it a passable shooter. This one adds RPG and cover shooter elements. I can't personally stand gameplay revolving around repeatedly hiding behind waist-high walls, waiting for my eyes to stop bleeding, so I played it on Recruit difficulty like a regular FPS.

While the graphics are much better than previous entries and there's co-op, it's still hard to take the game seriously. The whole thing smacks of a conference room full of suited executives trying to scope an edgy shooter to please all the kids: broody characters, zombies, cover shooting, and enemies that burst into showers of blood and dismemberment from any bullet wound - or even when set on fire.

+Enemy chatter is helpful for figuring out their awareness, and is often on-point for your exact location (i.e., "in that doorway, behind that window", etc)

~Story still all over the place, including retcons, plot holes, unexplained teleportation technology and super-super-soldiers, and events that seriously strain suspension of disbelief, even for a FEAR game.

-Unskippable opening splash screens
-Main menu navigation using KB&M is the only scary thing in this game
-Checkpoint save system, with infrequent and non-obvious save points
-Couple spots where it's hard to figure out where to go
-Enemy AI occasionally unbelievably stupid (especially in first level)
-Enemies can occasionally shoot through walls like FEAR 1
-Some enemies have 0-second reaction times, even in slow-mo
-Enemies burst into ridiculous showers of blood and gore upon death
-One late-game enemy that's extremely annoying
-The Warner Brothers logo is not scary despite best efforts of devs. I kept waiting for the Animaniacs to pop out.

This is an amazing shooter and well suited to multiplayer that's the way to go absolutely.
