Invisible water w/o a leak
In a map I am working on the water wont render when you are close, if you are far away, it renders normally. Map does not generate a pointfile when compiling and there are no other symptoms of a leak or hole. What is happening and how do i fix it?

Have you tried using a different water texture? It kind of sounds like you're just using some obscure special texture that doesn't have an "expensive" variant for some reason.

Yes I have
Are you certain that the water brush is created correctly, i.e. it's a world geometry brush with the water texture on its top face and nodraw textures on all other faces? Is it in contact with any areaportals? And even if you don't think there's a leak, posting the log won't hurt.
The .log says there is an areaportal leak, but there is not .lin file
The log file is to big to post

There is no need to post the entire contents of all recorded logs, I just need the most recent one. But if you've already spotted there's an issue with the areaportals, then I suppose you have your answer anyway.

how do you fix it without the .lin file? I remember having this problem in the past
Can you actually send the log? Because I want to make sure you read it correctly, since it seems you don't understand the difference between a regular leak and an areaportal leak. If there's no pointfile, that pretty much confirms it's an areaportal leak, but I don't want to give advice without being sure what I'm talking about.

How would I send the log?
