Cant launch hammer || gameinfo.txt missing
I moved all of my steam games (via the steam folder) to a new hard drive to save space. Now, when I try to launch hammer, it gives me the message: gameinfo.txt is missing. Blah blah, blah it's right where it should be, probably a directory error. I'm sure that a simple cut and paste would not change the directory within hammer, as stubborn as it is, for the game (In this case, Garry's Mod.) I already tried reinstalling the game, to no avail.

Try verifying the game cache and or reinstalling the game. If that doesn't work, try to get to the options menu if possible. If you can get there, reconfigure the all the directories to point to the right location.

I already tried verifying the cache and reinstalling. Where can I get to he options menu? If its in hammer, I cant launch it, therefore I cant get to it.

Yeah. It's in hammer. Although Id assume the game configurations are kept in a cfg file somewhere. Try looking in all the txt/cfg files. There might be something in there.

Also, try using a different game. Garry's Mod hammer is known to be buggy.

The same proble mhappens for all of my source game hammers.

I'm not sure since I've never had to find it, but I'd guess somewhere in the bin

no config/cfg files found anywhere.

Oh! I found it! It's called GameConfig.txt. Open it up and change all of the C:\ to whatever your new drive is.
