Help
Hello, I bought Ravenswatch today but I didn't understand anything about the game. I know it's a roguelike so far, no problem. My first game I died after 20 minutes and I uninstalled the game. However, this game has fabulous ratings. Is it just me or is there something I'm missing? I understood absolutely nothing about the aim of the game, where should you go and what should you do apart from die? I played solo. The first level that I did I was disgusted and I said to myself this game sucks. I've already done roguelikes but this one is not only too hard for a first game but I didn't understand anything. I would like to give it another chance before reselling my game, any advice? What should we do? How to play without it being so hard? I don't even have access to a difficulty level of the game at the beginning. In short, the game completely lost me.

The game has a guide from which you can learn everything about the goals of the game and the basic things in it. Try reading. Maybe it will help.

Ravenswatch is tricky in that it does not really feel like any other rougelikes out there, even punishing behaviors other rougelikes tend to reward. Once you understand the tricks of the game, it becomes a ton of fun, but those tricks explain themselves poorly.

FIRST: Your most valuable resource in the game is time. You need to use this time to hit as many objectives around the map as possible. This means you actually want to avoid fighting the various enemies around the map as much as possible, unless they are guarding an objective. Run past them, sneak around, but do not fight (objectives are worth far more exp than random mobs). As you get better, you can sneak things like dream shards or wells once you know aggro ranges.

SECOND: The power curve in the game is brutal. You start off WEAK and even a single enemy attack will chunk you. Play defensively and avoid attacks. Know your defensive skill provides a few i-frames to help you live. As you get levels and items, you will find you scale harder than the enemies.

THIRD: Prioritize the correct objectives. Here are some general rules:
Day 1 - get green objectives, Day 2 - get yellow objectives, Day 3 - get red objectives.
Priority: Chest > Eye > Shards > Grimoires > Wells > Tumors.

FOURTH: Special objectives.
Each map will have a key and a quest. They key can provide legendary or cursed items and the quest will provide a legendary items. But earning the rewards is tricky and it is recommended you try for them after about half your available time is passed so you are strong enough to complete it.
Key: Upon finding the locked objective, look at the map and picture a circle about a third of the size of the map, centered on that objective. The key will be in that circle somewhere. Get it, use it, fight and defeat the enemies, claim the reward.
Quest: Will be marked upon loading the map. Complete the assigned task and then defeat a strong enemy/enemies, typically with some kind of object you have to protect. Win and claim the reward.

Join the discord community for some tips ( eventually, some coop or watching some solo run with player explaining what they are doing and why. Also, look for positiveAce on yt, because their videos are pretty good and easy to follow ).
