Looks like it should be good but its absolutely exhausting when you eventually move the story forward and see where you need to go next knowing that you will need to fight the exact same enemies over and over again every step of the way. You eventually get there then rinse and repeat. This could have been great but it just doesn't feel like its worth the effort at all. they have managed to make the "open world" element of it a total grind to the point you dont want to even explore.

Its a rant because I'm beyond frustrated right now.

I tried to be nice about this game, i really did. And honestly first 3-5 hours were great. Much different that a lot of todays titles and it was fun figuring things out. I wasn't sure how no fast travel thing will work but over all I enjoyed it because going on a quest did make it seem like you actually are going on an adventure. But that was first 3-5 hours. After running around back and forth, facing same mobs for 20+ hours it gets annoying. How many types of enemies are there, 5? Orcs/goblins, harpy trash, wolves, bandits and the lizards? And you have to fight them literally every 20 seconds? I genuinely don't think its possible to run on a road for a minute straight without having to fight one of those enemies. And as if that wasn't annoying enough, you have to fight mobs while riding the oxcarts. Insanely boring. What a lazy job.
Then there's the idiotic stamina system. This has to be the absolute worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ system I have ever seen in a video game. No its not immersive, its not realistic its pure ♥♥♥♥. You are stunned like an idiot for most of the fights, you can't move for half of the time. Oh you used a shield to block an attack and your stamina ran out? Well ♥♥♥♥ you then because there's 3 more enemies coming at you but you cant move! And to add on top of this absolute awful system there's also the fact that stamina runs out when you sprint. I don't think that would be a big deal if there was fast travel, i don't think this would be a big deal if there were mounts or if the game genuinely didn't require you to spend hours running around, but it's beyond annoying then stamina runs out while you are trying to run out of combat.
The quests and map are so bad. Skyrim that has been released 13 years ago had better map and quests. I understand that sometimes you go to figure things out on your own but having absolutely no idea, and all the description says is something along the lines of "go figure it out" is crazy annoying. I don't think I have had to google so many quest walkthroughs before.

Then there's the length of the game. Let's be honest here, if you take away all the stupid running and pointless mob fighting you have to do the game would be like 4 hours long. There aren't any bosses, the last fight with the dragon is easy to the point where second time around I just stood there and let my pawns do everything. (level 40). How can you have such a cool idea for a game and execute it in such a ♥♥♥♥ way?
Oh and then there's the stupid ending. You killed a dragon? Well you will be stuck in a loop until you realize you have to stab yourself with a sword. And then, after dealing with all this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for 30+ hours, you finally get to the last part of the game. You go to vermonth(?) to scare an oxcart owner because apparently you are a dog and the "king" don't have guards to do that for him, apparently a king controls absolutely nothing. Were these quests made my AI? So then i start doing the challenges, did one, did two, and then died on the third one and holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥, i have to do them all over again? I have to do the running like a dog doing stupid evacuation quests again? HOW IS THIS REAL???? Who in the team decided this is the way to do it?

It is crazy to me that such potential has been wasted. Even when i was 20+ hours in I was still having fun, thinking that it's a shame that they didn't take one more year to polish the game, but now seeing how many of the trash in this game were deliberate decisions I don't think 5 more years of working on this would give us a better result. Honestly I should have quit after first kill of the dragon before i stabbed myself. Would have been less disappointed and frustrated.

$70 for this? Seriously? How did this even make to to GOTY nominations?

Extremely disappointed and sad that this wasn't what it could have been. Truly hope that if there is another DD game they actually do a good job. This was supposed to be on the level of Baldurs Gate 3 but it isn't even close.
