Animal Behavior Questions

Hello all, I have played Re4 a hundred times but still have a few unanswered questions;

Can a chicken lay multiple eggs or just one? Is it always just brown/white or is there a chance for a rare gold drop? What triggers the chicken to lay eggs? Do you just have to be near them? Does the male chicken have to be involved, be near them? Do they have to feel safe?

And... why do the animals get aggressive at times and attack you? Is there a certain trigger? Are they infected with the plagas?

I sat around a bit in the throne room and got like 3 eggs from the chicken there

RNG, like everything else in this game.

I believe there is a limit of 5 eggs in any area. Chickens can all lay eggs, but its RNG. If they roll to lay an egg, they roll again with a smaller chance for another, but if they roll not to lay an egg they dont do it again.

Egg RNG happens every egg lay, and I think its a 5% for goldens.

As for cows and pigs, cows have a 50/50 chance to retaliate to damage from the front or the back in close range (gore or kick), while pigs have a 30% or so chance to do a charge attack when damaged from the front.
