Out of the Loop plot questions for the series
Ok, so Wesker (and Barry, I guess - but not really) dies at the end of RE1... but now Wesker is here, why?

And the NEXT time I see him he has super powers... wut

Yeah, Wesker didn't fully die. He's infected with a variant of the t virus.

RE has a goofy plot.

they did make his blood green in the DS version... but not sure if they did that to all the blood
That's just a nintendo thing.
Wesker got hit by the Tyrant, but then they show his body gone, so he clearly survived.

Thats censorship.Back then wen RE1 came out for Playstation 1 in Germany we had the options of no blood at all, green or purple.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica is an earlier reveal that hints at Wesker's enhanced powers (especially during his brief fight with Alexia).

IIRC, Darkside Chronicles also has a flashback that shows Wesker injecting himself with pretty much very syringe he can find in order to survive getting f****d up by the Tyrant in RE1.
If im not wrong, Wesker revives after getting killed (Resident evil Umbrella Chronicles explain this)

Barry dosent die on the original ending (He´s even on Revelations 2) which is like 20 years later.

As fun fact, they alterated the story of Operation Javier. A little bit but it isnt like it was on Darkside Chronicles.
Resident Evil is b-movie tier horror. It's fun, it's exciting, but it's so goofy and poorly structured. Just go with the flow. If someone shows up again, accept it and have fun. lol
That reminds me how much RE1 needs a modern remake in the same style as those recent remakes.

Not only to explore the mansion in 3D, but if you think about it, the original (and the GC remake) had 8 endings, but none of them were canon. Crazy right?

There are no canon endings. The canon ending is Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Barry and Brad coming out alive, but there is no way to get an ending with all these characters leaving together.

Unless you just assume an ending like Chris, Rebecca, Jill and Brad escaping by helicopter implies Barry escaped by himself in some other way before the mansion exploded...

Or the other way around, getting Jill, Chris, Barry and Brad, implies Rebecca escaped by herself.

Regardless, you don't get a conclusive canon ending.

A new remake could fix this and give us a proper ending.

Iirc Wesker didn't die as the viruses involved for that era were incapable of resurrecting the dead. They instead turned living people.

I play it a while ago but i remember it was something like it happened with Jill after RE3 (Original one not the remake story) that his Inmune system help him to keep him self "human".

Probably im wrong about it but i kinda i remember it was something related on his inmune system.
Zombies are actually a waste product of the T-Virus. Its desired function are the Tyrants (The T in the T-Virus) and as revealed later in RE5 (earlier?) to turn "worthy" people in to Neo from the matrix, which is what happened to Wesker when he was gored by the Tyrant in RE1.

In Code Veronica, Wesker returns and it's revealed he had some weird strain of the T-Virus in him that game him crazy powers. Sadly that one's not on Steam, but it's not an especially good game so it's not too much of a loss I guess.

Also I think the blood color on the DS version was an option you could change. Probably just Nintendo being aimed more at kids, even though they got the two best RE games of the time on GameCube completely uncut.

I personally take Chris to be the slightly more canonical character to choose.

In later games, Code Veronica & 5, Wesker absolutely HATES Chris. If Chris was captured in the prison cell the whole time I fail to see why Wesker would blame him for everything.

"CHRIIIIISSSSS!!! I saw you making faces in the security camera!"

But yeah... there isn't exactly a perfect version of the events of RE 1. Even the Umbrella Chronicles version is missing Barry.

IF they decide to remake 1, I'd prefer it if they made it first person like 7 & 8. I think that view would work better for a game almost entirely set in interior locations.
