So what are they preventing exactly?
I’m also very unfamiliar with Enigma as I’ve never heard of it before. Based on what I’ve read from these discussion posts, I understand that Enigma is a tool to make it more harder for modders to mod the game.
enigma preventing cheating and modding is just misinformation and fearmongering from what i've gathered
I won’t take that for an answer.
re5 has had enigma for over a year and mods and cheats still work
There's no reason to add additional DRM's into the game. Most reasonable people were tolerating of Denuvo because Capcom was good about removing it when the game was considered "end of life", but now they're removing Denuvo and attaching unnecessary DRM.
Instead of doing that and getting pointless backlash and negative opinions towards their company, they should be removing all DRM at "end of life" and putting the games for sale on GOG also.
That would be a pro-consumer move and a good look for them, which would be the total opposite of what they've been doing. It's just amazing how dumb these companies actually are.
Capcom in general has just gotten more and more anti-consumer over the years. Their paid cheats is a good example, were as before you'd have a single unlock for everything at a reasonable price, but now it's numerous micro-transactions with golden tickets and the like that ramp up in cost while still providing less than a $5 unlock everything DLC did in previous RE's.
Then why put it in? I mean, if it's not doing anything and all it's doing is causing backlash to the company...
I’m sorry but if they are preventing nothing then there’s no reason Capcom would add it. Developers make changes for a reason.
you can believe whatever you want, but the fact is, players don't like retroactive and invasive software wrecking their gaming experience after they've purchased a game, and enough damage has been done to Resident Evil Revelations and Monster Hunter Rise so far that good will has been lost and people are either trying to get refunds or otherwise boycotting Capcom. the truth is, we don't like being treated like cheaters and thieves just because we want to mod our SINGLEPLAYER (operative word for these instances) experiences, especially by a software that both breaks previously functional games, and doesn't even perform as advertised to the publisher.
how else should we treat Capcom for this? open arms and hurrahs? kumbayah at some boy scout bonfire? no thanks bro. that's not how anti-consumerism works. you blame the paying customer, you get bent.
Exactly, there's no point adding DRM. Capcom should listen to the customers.
Because the PC community isn't so kind when it comes to DRM.
They actually did block reframework. I use this for MH rise to have ai companions ony my SP session. But it got patched in like 10 hours. and also almost every game that has this got cracked. So gg capcom
