Game not launching
I've played RE4 Remake multiple times before and had no issue, I decided to play it here today but I'm having issues getting it to launch. I updated my Frosty Mod Manager, uninstalled mods, reread game archives, I've TRIED to verify game files but file verification seems to be getting stuck, I've uninstalled and reinstalled to no success and I'm stumped on what to do here. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Game & Steam are both launching in admin mode.

I heard a window update screwed the game once, but that was a while back.

How long ago was this? Last time I played was the week of Separate Ways dropping so it definitely had to be some time after that I'd reckon.

I remember at least two people saying rolling back the update fixed it for them. I know that's kinda vague and not sure how long ago... sorry

It's all good, I'll have to look into it and see if that's an option. If not I'll probably just end up waiting for a fix, was wanting to play some mercenaries but not too terribly missing it.

I tried doing a quick search and there was one person saying updating windows helped them. So basically it could be anything.

The one where people were rolling back drivers, I think that was before Separate Ways.

I reinstalled the video card drivers, tried to open it as admin, opened the game on the firewall, disabled background programs, disabled game overlays, everything they recommended on the internet, I even thought it was the dlss mod that I recently installed, but nothing advanced. I was only able to run it again by uninstalling the last Windows update. apparently it was causing some incompatibility with the game. Only after uninstalling the update was I able to open the game again. Try this if your Windows 10 is running and you have the latest update installed. Sorry for my bad English.

This worked for me, thanks!!
This might have been what I was thinking about. Other people were saying it was with mods, but the one person said they didn't use mods.

It's a Denuvo issue. Denuvo doesn't like windows 11 after the latest update for some reason.

Had to remove my imported saves from my Windows 10 rig because Denuvo was treating them like spyware and then patch back in the game files that started vanishing.

It's a huge pain in the ass.
I have RE4 remake it was running but now it’s not when I try to launch it on Steam it just says running but window will not open. I have a Dell Inspiron 7415 to 11 laptop with AMD Horizon five 5500 you processor with radian and integrated graphics 16 gigs of ram And one terabyte SSD the game was working fine little lag but after I messed around with graphics settings game was running pretty smooth but now unfortunately in steam library it says running but nothing happens. I verified game files uninstalled it reinstalled it updated my AMD adrenaline graphics the current version I’m on , is the newest update for my Verizon five 5500 you I added the game files to antivirus. I don’t have an issue with any other game on Steam just this one can anybody help me out?

Same Issue here 2024 with windows11 24h2
same here windows 11 24H2
I am on Windows 10, just to get that out of the way. I used to play Resident Evil 4 with absolutely no issues. I wanted to play it recently and to no avail. I click on the play button, screen turns to black and nothing else. the last time I had to exit out of Windows 10 and reboot because I couldn't get RE4 black screen to respond. Anyone have any clues?
I was able to played the game until yesterday. I started up my laptop (no window update or anything major update at all) and now the game won't launch, no error code no pop up tab saying anything wrong with the game. It just won't launch. Task manager stated it's running in the background. Please help!
