X-Plane 12
Bugs in ATC and Autopilot in new Beta Update 12.1.3
I think the world is gonna end and flight simulators will never have a decent ATC, that's quite impressive how they always do wrong about it. The new ATC is a complete mess, it orders descents too much late, it always says you're off course in procedures when you're not, it asks if you see the runway too far away from a position you could see it and to help in this mess autopilot is not keeping altitude, depending on your thrust levers it climbs or descends by itself as if you didn't select a target altitude when it's selected, and it's happening with all planes as I could notice. And Xplane NEVER, NEVER, NEVER solved the flaps bug that makes plane go up like crazy even in low speed.

What do you mean crazy? Depending on the aircraft when you drop flaps the nose pitching up is normal. Apply forward pressure on the yoke and trim the aircraft.

Yes, I agree with you that planes pitch up a bit after lowering flaps due to lift increasing, but is it realistic to deploy the flaps and the plane pitches up like 20 degrees nose up or more in like 2 seconds and becomes almost uncontrollable causing even stall or near stall situation, even when you're at an appropriate approach speed?

What aircraft is this happening to you in?

All of them, simply this. Try deploying flaps using the Vision Jet for example, it goes up and down agressively after deploying flaps.

The Vision Jet is pretty sensitive in pitch, at least for me and my joystick. But it's possible to fly and land it rather stable, as long as you get the trim exactly right. You need to anticipate the ballooning effect by nose down trim and some forward stick pressure. Once you trim the plane again after the flaps have stopped moving, it's stable again. Just need to practice and get used to how it handles.

Yes, maybe it's a bit more difficult for me because I use the keyboard to trim the pitch and I use a 360 xbox controller because I still don't have decent aviation joysticks.
who needs ATC.....Just try doing it yourself, i do its a lot better than getting lost on final.
