That Multi Button

What am I missing about this multi button? I clicked it and place a hospital and it just plops the one down and leave the building mode. I've tried it with multiple buildings and it seems to do nothing. I'm not building multiple buildings for sure. I've tried the Steel Mill, Hospital, Small Park. None of them make more than one. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong....

This is some good cheap mobile city building solo-dev fun. Cheap price. Solid gameplay. Minimal bugs. Minimalo aspirations. Some mobile quirks like "events" you can spam for XP every 5 minutes. If you just want to mess around with a city builder then this is great.
