Why's this game so LAGGY??
I've played multiple 3D adventure, 1st person shooter & walking simulator games over the years ("Skyrim", "TF2", "Paladins", "The Sinking City", "Port To Call", "Bendy & The Ink Machine", etc.) but I've never suffered from LAG as bad as in this so-called FREE-TO-PLAY "THE BACKROOMS" game. Why's this game so fubbernucking laggy? It's more laggy than "Bendy & The Ink Machine" with "The Sinking City" combined! EVEN WHEN I HAVE 2 8GB RAM INSTALLED! I tried lowering this game's graphics settings to minimum but nothing changes. How can a single player walking simulator with no NPCs like this have so much lag?

I don't know what to tell you, runs perfectly for me
Your hardware must not be up to spec. Upgrade your rig.

Did you even read all I just said? Explain why I can play other walking simulators (like "Bendy & The Ink Machine") & open world games (like "The Sinking City" & "Skyrim") without lagging, but lag while playing this free-2-play game?

try repairing the game files or it might be one of your pc components bugging

ram doesn't solve everything. I feel like this game uses RTX (it really looks like it at least) so it might be your graphics card. you need a decently powerfull graphics card to run RTX. for example I use a 3060 and I average about 55-60 fps on this game. if a new gpu doesn't fix it then I have no idea why its so laggy for you

The game can run fine on a bad computer, you must be using a laptop if you are having trouble.

i'm on max settings but i think it's supposed to be laggy because the VHS frame rate is 20-30 fps but i think the game is 45 fps

i'm fine playing with 45 fps on max settings because it gives more vhs tape vibes

Do you have RGB lighting? That should improve it.

Those games you have listed are not as demanding as this game. You have to take into account that those games are easier to run than this. Especially with the crazy lighting and engine that this game uses.

You probably have a mediocre graphics card if you can't run this game well. I have a 5600 XT which is a RTX 2060 equivalent graphics card and it runs at a very high frame rate.

Ram doesn't really matter if you don't have a decent card.

I'm getting like 100+ frames. Like I said, those games you listed are not demanding in lighting and engine. If you run those games at medium or low settings, you're not going to run this game
