For most people an update of the gpu driver solved the problem. If you already use the driver wait for better ideas below my comment.

New problem, It now says i dont have enough VRAM to LAUNCH the game. WTF, im so confused
After you've updated the gpu driver ? In such case i recommend to try the 552.44 driver version then. People told here that it worked with these driver. Or search via google for a solution.
Mr_Fettman 9 月 27 日 上午 9:16
I'll give that a shot.
animal_PLANET 9 月 27 日 下午 1:50
Yea, this is due to an outdated display driver. Update it and it will be fixed.

If issue still persists. Download and run DDU, and than install latest GPU driver again.

CPU doesnt matter. Its a display driver related issue.

Update your display driver and problem will be fixed.
It's not the cpu. I use a Ryzen 5600 non X and the game starts without issues.

Update: I've just downloaded and tried the game again ( after several month) on my RTX 4060 with NV driver 561.09. No problems at all during Shader building and the first cutscene.

Yeah its up to date, it has been. I launch the game, it asks for safe mode; i say yes. I click continue game, then it crashes. If i dont launch it in safe mode it says i dont have enough memory to run the game

If you have less than 16GB of RAM the game will not launch. You will need to install more.

You may have experienced 2 issues at same time.

1. Bad driver from NVIDIA. 555 series driver gave not enough VRAM error with this game. Any driver before/after that series fixes that message. Since you are on latest driver. That fixes that.

So it leaves option 2. You have less than 16GB of RAM installed in your system. System RAM and VRAM are two separate things.

Once you add more RAM in the system. It will fix the problem as the game requires 16GB.

Ok, before continuing with giving more suggestions. Can you check to make sure 16GB is what is reflected as installed by the system?

Right click on taskbar and select Task Manager. Select performance tab. Click on memory. Does windows see 16GB? How much does it say is used?

Lastly, please now list your full specs. You can do this by clicking on help up top in steam. Going to System Information and copy/paste that info here. This will not include what your motherboard is. If you know how to get that as well, please include it also. If not, you will have to access your BIOS on PC start. It will tell you there on the main page.

No problem. Its sucks when games dont work and I like to try and help out when I can.

Ok so, your hardware looks good. Everything checks out and you should be able to run the game fine with no issues.

Did you upgrade to windows 11 from 10? If so, was it a clean install or done through the upgrade process? Some people have had issues with games not working when they used the upgrade process. Once they did a clean install it fixed their issues. If that is not the case and it was a clean install, than try the steps below.

This may seem like a lot of text but will not take long to try these suggestions. So bare with me.

Just to double check. Even though you said your driver is up to date. Did you use DDU before you updated the display driver? If not, please run it and install the driver again.

Here is link for DDU. Make sure to read/follow guide. Its in the link. https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5039

Running DDU will remove previous driver/s completely and ensure a clean install. Like its being done for the first time on a newly installed OS. Once display driver has installed successfully, reboot the PC even if not prompted.

Just note that all NVIDIA control panel (app) and monitor settings will be reset using DDU, and whenever you update the display driver the shaders will recompile.

Remove all peripherals from PC like your Oculus devices. Just leave the Mouse and Keyboard connected. Disconnect everything else. Some things may cause strange things to happen with games and this cant hurt to try.

Do a clean boot. A clean boot will remove any potential conflicts with other software running in background. So disable all non essential services, programs and tasks from starting with PC. So use services (services app or system configuration app), tasks (task scheduler app, select task scheduler library), and startup items (task manager) to disable them.

Check all 3 areas. If anyone is enabled that software will run and could be causing conflicts with the game. This will also help free up system resources in general and increase RAM.

If you got a Windows update. Make sure it is on latest public build. No insider, preview, or optional updates.

Disable windows game mode, game bar, and game captures.

If you use an anti-virus, windows security, or data protection. Make exceptions to your game folders. This way it disables the scans and doesnt conflict with your games and take away system resources as you are playing. Which may be causing the crashes.

Increase your page file (virtual memory) on your SSD. Try setting it to 8,192 (Init MB) - 16,384 (Max MB). You must have 16.4GB of space available on your SSD in order to increase it to this size. Here is a guide for Win 11:
https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/how-to-manage-virtual-memory-on-windows-11

If the above suggestions still has not helped. Before continuing with the next suggestions. Uninstall the game and delete the game folder. Re-install the game and try again.

Do an SFC (system file checker) scan. Open command prompt as admin and type this:

sfc /scannow

It will scan and repair system files. Run it twice.

Check to see if your motherboard is on latest stable BIOS. No beta. Should be 7B86vHL. If you arent sure how to access or update your BIOS. You can look that up in the motherboard's manual or on youtube.

If you dont feel comfortable doing this thats OK. Since you are using a 5K series CPU. You should be on second to last stable version. So you should be ok here.

However, If you do decide to update the BIOS. Make sure to default the settings before applying the update. Once update is successful apply the correct XMP/EXPO mode if supported by the RAM.

MSI just released a chipset driver (6.07.15.126) for your motherboard at the end of September. You can try to update that and see if it helps.

Lastly, If all of that still doesnt work. Your last resort would be to do a clean install of Win 11 using the media creation tool. Just make sure to make a backup of any files you want to keep.

Before starting, download all up to date drivers from MSI for your motherboard and display driver from NVIDIA. You can use the same USB that you used for the media creation tool. But dont put them on there until after windows has finished making the USB ready.

Also, make sure you have no internet connection when installing windows and drivers or windows will try to update drivers behind the scenes. You dont want that to avoid conflicts. Once all drivers and chipsets have been installed and device manager shows no exclamation points. You can connect to the internet again.
