Surround sound STILL not working
Receiver connected through HDMI powering a 5.1 setup. Yes, I have the licensing for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X installed in Windows 11. Yes, Windows is configured to use Atmos for the spatial sound setting. Yes, it works in every other application.

Only get 1.0, 2.0, and "3D spatial sound". Note that "3D spatial sound" in-game refers to fake simulated surround sound. It upscales it and has lower quality, it's a setting intended for headphones.

It should list 5.1/7.1 in-game but it doesn't.

Saw that thread and it doesn't work. Many people have a display connected through their receiver as well, so optical cables are not an option.

You say you have 5.1 setup, but have windows set to spatial. That doesnt really make sense because spatial audio is for 7.1+. So it would be pointless to send out channels that dont go to an actual speaker. So there may be a conflict there.

3D spatial shouldnt be selected by you because your system doesnt physically support it since its 5.1. I believe you are looking for the traditional setting.

The game does have its own 7.1 option. As seen by this users post. Its in German, but it clearly shows the option for 7.1 in game. Along with the speaker array, but for you it may not be there since you only have a 5.1 setup.

You just need to configure your settings better. Whether done thru the game, windows, app that controls your Audio, or thru your receiver. Overall you have a 5.1 setup and shouldnt be selecting 7.1 anyway. GL

Don't think you know what you're talking about. The spatial sound setting in Windows is the modern way to configure surround sound, and there's no 7.1 speaker requirement for it. Even further than that, you'll want it set even if you don't have an Atmos setup and/or are not viewing Atmos-type content, because many applications (like Netflix example) will not work for surround sound at all if it's not set.

That said, if you ARE viewing actual Atmos or DTS:X (spatial) content, as mentioned there's no 7.1 requirement for that. You can have a 5.1.2 or 5.1.4 speaker setup for Atmos, for example.
Than by that said, you should be able to figure out your issue than right? Because people who have actual 7.1, as I linked above, have no issues with this game.
