what happens to living max? (spoilers welcome)

full disclosure i havent beat the game yet so i apologize if its answered in game but, what happens to living max when OUR max crosses over

I just assumed our max was the only max between these two timelines. When the timeline split, max didnt split with them

Correct, one Max for two universes. Alternate Max split the timeline.

The problem of the "other Max" has been around, but quietly ignored, ever since the first time Max photo-jumped in the first game. What happened to the 13-year-old Max who was supposed to be hanging out with Chloe and William? And what happened to Spiral Max when our Max returned to the altered present?
