Been like 2 years since the last update, which stated that it was near release. What happened?

First of all I'm liking the game, it looks good and is different. I don't think you need a "Ready?" after Start Game because you first have to pick your character. After a "Ready?" I would normally expect to be thrown into action. I prefer my Fire button on A and Special on RT or RB. I can change that in Steam's controller config but now Confirm can't be on A as well (I've put it on X). Since there are only two buttons perhaps fire on both X and A and Special on B, RT and RB? I'm using an 8BitDo Pro 2 and it was fully supported in the demo iirc. However in the full game the left stick doesn't do anything. I've tried X-input, D-input and Switch mode of my controller with Steam input enabled and without. With some settings I could change the girl+ship with the left stick, but it never worked in the actual game. The d-pad does work but I'm not a fan of the Pro 2's d-pad. Hi there, just wanted to so great work on the game so far. I enjoyed Q-Yo so thought I'd give this one a shot. Negatives: I don't actually like this very much at all. It seems like the game punishes you for wanting to blast and shoot the enemies. The overheat mechanic is basically annoying and I understand that it is intentionally so, but it makes the game less fun for me. I'd would remove the overheat mechanic entirely. I'm not even sure what the point of the execution mechanic is for, aside from look...
