Help Minrathous or Treviso? Best outcome overall?
For those who have progressed the game more...
Death caller mage here, not planning on romancing Lucanus not sure about Neve but what is the best outcome overall for this? I also would like to have access to items which are good for my class. I have read that you loose access to some vendors...
Thanks a lot

Whichever faction you throw under the bus will lose its merchant. However I found leveling Crows to be a lot easier than the Shadow Dragons. Lucanis isn't a **** to you afterwards, whereas Neve is. You also lose more strength if you lose Minrathous compared to Treviso. -250 compared to -100 respectively.

Oh, and you don't get to do Lucanis' personal quest, and he doesn't become a Hero, as far as I can tell.
DaisyRay 21 de nov. às 11:56
The vendors you lose can be found at the Crossroads, so whichever one you choose their merchant will be there. So you don't completely lose out on any of that.

I personally like saving Treviso more, I did that in my first playthrough. I can't go into details without adding spoilers, but seeing everything that happens if you don't save Treviso made me sad. It might not be that reaction for you.

Whoever becomes hardened, from you not saving there city, levels up slower. Meaning it takes more approval to get there personal quests unlocked.
So basically, just need to bring them on more missions, along with doing all the side content in there city, to "fix" it. Should still be possible to get them all to hero, at least havent seen anything indicating otherwise.

Thanks. I just wrapped up our boy's cousin quest and thought that was that. Haven't resolved the gatloc issue yet, though.

Lol I didn't know either until I was already at the end of the game. Apparently it wasn't showing up at first for some people and got fixed on the patch.

I was wrong though, I just double checked and now it says they're at the Black Emporium. I'd check both.

Also yeah, I was able to get Neve to become a hero. It just took forever.

Depends on how you feel. You either let the the Venatori take over the capital of the Tevinter Empire, or you let Treviso become a blighted canal system spawning eldritch horrors.

I chose to save Treviso personally, but mainly because Lucanis made a pretty good point that it was undefended and filled with civilians. Whereas when you think about it Minrathous has thousands of high powered mages and a sky fortress with laser beams.

Only got themselves to blame for not being able to fight off a dragon with that firepower.

This is exactly why I chose to defend Treviso on my first run! Apparently me and Rook are the only logical thinkers ion the game, though. This time I saved Minrathous and I'm glad I did.

And which option do you like more? (you have tried out both sides if i understand correctly)

Saving Minrathous locks Lucanis' romance and saving Treviso does NOT lock Neves romance. However, it is a lot harder to level up affinity with either companion( whoever's city you let get messed up). You want all your companions to be high leveled and complete their personal quests for the best overall end game outcome to reach "Hero" status. Minrathous seems like objectively the worse city to save as Treviso being attacked will hurt more 'innocents' based on the water/canal system. But, I save Treviso the first time and it was extremely hard to level Neve back up in affinity. I pick saving Minrathous this play through for variety/to see the alternative, but still feel like saving Treviso is the 'better' decision.

You can complete his personal quest but he makes his own decisions and you get no input on his outcome. You also have to complete the quest chain in Treviso about the traitor and talk to Lucanis in the light house after the fact. Then he finally becomes a hero of the Veilguard.

i did minrathous, bc it would make more sense to stop the venatori from literally ruling a throne.

Treviso is not really undefended, given all the Antaam, but mages should have an easier time then foot soldiers, yeah. Then again, Treviso is already lost to an hostile force, while Minrathous is still in not openly controlled by Venetori. Meaning helping suppress the Venetori, might make a bigger difference in the long run?
