Why aren't bonus areas connected?

Jaws should have been connected to Jurassic Park because of Stephen Spielberg. Shawn of the Dead should have been connected to Hot Fuzz because they have the same actors. Xena fits with He-Man because they are both mythical universes - although Back to the Future would have also fit because 80s.

Shaun of the Dead fit with The Thing because they both have a Zombie Theme
Although, I must admit that I don't see a connection between Jaws and Hot Fuzz beside the large amount of Blood

Zombies in movies don't have tentacles. And the ones in video games are usually mini- or end-bosses.

To better explain their poorly explained point:

They are both based around an infection which can completely destroy society if given the chance
