How do I open a map that isn't from the workshop?
I've added it in the SDK, But I can't open the folder with models in it,

The formats in the folder that I have are as follows - VTX, MDL, VVD.
I would greatly appriciate any help, thanks!



The instructions given are as follows :
Model install guide:
Find the directory of SFM on your PC
Drag in the "materials" folder from the "_materials" and the "models" folder from the model of your choice into the "usermod" folder or your own mod folder

In SFM:
Spawn in all the necessary models and lock it all with the "root_lock" bone

I tried doing it with both the usermod folder, and my own folder, but there's noway for me to spawn in the models.

Map or model? Your title contradicts your post.

Do you mean you added a search path to SFM but it doesn't appear in the list, or something else? Please be more specific.

It was a map, but comes with models in the VTX,MDL, and VVD format.

Okay, most likely your download came with three folders, "maps", "models" and "materials". You just plop those in your search path folder and it should work.

It came with "models" and "materials", didn't come with a "maps" folder,

Then your download does not contain a map. Some "maps" are in fact models for scenebuilds, make sure to read the description wherever it is you downloaded it from.

I've included the description for what I downloaded in the thread, How do you spawn models and lock them in with the rootbone?
