No option to exit unfinished polish? workshop

I barely started the demo and I wanted to cleanup a camera I found in the museum. It said the condition was OK, whatever that means. When I click assemble, I put it together and then after what I thought was completed, I couldn't do anything.

Pressing the toggle to view the dirt didn't seem to show anything. I couldn't exit the workbench. This was frustrating, uninstalled.

Had the same issue, and just skimming though the discussion board thread titles tells me this game isn't even remotely ready for release. The dev is delusional if he's really releasing it in 13 hours.
