works for me :)
The game runs, but it is not great. Proton Experimental helps, but there are graphical glitches (spell effects don't show up properly) and no music playing during battles.
I tried messing with all kind of settings, but no other Proton compatibility mode worked. Leaving Proton out of it and changing the resolution to Native seems to work as well. This time, battle music comes in, but there are graphical details missing.
I also ran into a problem with Save Files. The saves I made on the Deck could not be loaded on the computer. After a while, the problem seems to have disappeared, but it was still a bit of a red flag.
Finally, if the Deck is offline, I can't play the game - tough I believe this might have been intended. (Something related to DRM? I am not that familiar with this type of thing.)
All in all, if you plan on playing this on the Deck, I would not get it right now.
If you're playing on Steam Deck, do NOT try to change the resolution. The game will freeze and then constantly freeze when trying to boot up. I had to switch to Proton Experimental to get the game to properly work again, and even then the music wasn't working so I had to restart yet again. As for battery life, on the high preset I get about 2 hours at 60 FPS and 3.5 hours at 40 FPS. I'm going with 40 FPS since it's a turn based RPG and I value battery life more.
This is useful. I did try to change he resolution when I booted the game initially and could not boot it up without Proton Experimental ever since. For a while there, I could do so with Proton Experimental, but with the same issues listed above (+ as I mentioned before, some spells and other graphical details not working). Now, I can't even boot it with proton Experimental, I get a "Sorry, something went wrong message." I am trying to reinstall the game to see if that changes...
