A beautiful game that deserved more attention than it got.

First things first, the setting and 'feeling' is impressive. I was really immersed in being a nurse between two nations. But, huge caveat: The gameplay and execution falls short. First, you've got technical issues like dialogue not going away after clicks, and a roaring PC despite VSync. Secondly, it's not intuitive for an informed decision. So far i'm not under stress by a QTE, but simply by the mechanics, whose flaws become apparent in the first minutes, and possibly persist throughout the game. After thoroughly searching the location, i'm not in posession of an item required for a dialogue option. When i'm looking at the map to decide where i go, an option gets instantly chosen, instead of showing information what i even clicked on. Doing some tasks is impossible, simply by clicking on something else, despite logic not obstructing it: (Tidying room after cooking porridge), or treating two patients after another, in an empty hospital. You trade items for who-knows-what. Almost every option has a price to pay, or a negative outcome. Even the answer to questions like 'How was your day?'.

While the decision to 'make every choice matter' and skip on saving points to deliver a personal story without right or wrong, is appreciated, it massively falls short. You have a huge faction alignment system, but the 'complexity' is it's own bane. Saying something insignificant has an influx on your reputation, without a reason.

Loved this. At the Nazi dinner party, I accepted every drink offered to me and got absolutely shwasted. Doing this unlocks special dialogue options through the "liquid courage" feature. What a game.
