the log on is for the online creation sharing i believe (that allowed player creatures to be shown in other peoples games, however you should be able to play the game without logging on

yes just close the pop up window (the red X on the corner) and you can play

I just bought the game and it keeps saying the same. Internet isnt connected or working which it is. I know I can start a game without logging in but wonder if it will save progress if not logged in.

it saves but not in the cloud however don't forget to save regularly I lost a long game after a crash

I do not know about the file your talking about, but to transfer your Spore data you may copy the "Spore" folder located in:

C:\Users\"your user name"\AppData\Roaming\SPORE

You want to put special attention to " Pollination.package ", because is where all your (downloaded) creations and Sporepedia are located.

You may be sure to also copy your creations' folder located in:

C:\Users\"your user name"\Documents\MySporeCreations

The servers are online but you need the key to register on Ea.

Idk why but i cant just start playing spore. Microsoft start turning off the game actually after starting it.
Help someone plz, really wanna try this game out.

You must contact EA to obtain a copy from the EA store, or purchase Spore Creatures and Creators in the EA app, after which you must create an account on that copy and then return the copy to Steam to log in, in my case I managed to buy the creatures and spore breeders.
